FM09 4321 Tactic based on FM08 Oxford from BSP to EPL

The Oxford tactics are in a new formation for FM09 patch 9.3. Chelsea table, revised formation with Lpool below.

Apparantly this is a Nike defence for Mourinho-type managers, as it can do well without excessive creative freedom.

drew 2-2 with portsmoth after leading 2-0 but after making 3 subs one got injured so i played the last 10 with 10 men.

Also made cm playmaker polombo in my team and modic who is support striker improved greatly

Thats with the standard 106. However, I've been testing other tactics, if I can find 11 fit players.

At least you can send Ass Man to attend press conferences!

i've been playing with this tactic for 8 games. 4 Wins 4 draws. I play with Man Utd.

1. 4 wins: 1-0; 4 draws: 2x 0-0, 2x 1-1. Conlcusion: It might be a great tactic for - not receiving to many goals - but you cant score either. The players seem lethargic... they cant dominate at wall, no matter what they are playing.

1-1 to Blacburn, 0-0 to Hull, 1-0 to Wigan.

Oh... I didn't mentioned: 3 of the 4 goals are OWN GOALS... so in 8 games, only one real goal (rooney). And another thing... in 2 games the other team lost 2 players (red cards).. guess what : 1-1 and 0-0 ... not even with 9 players I didnt manage to win.

I used OI for AMs and SC's ... like closing down, tight markin.

I think that it's a good tactic against great teams... but it's necesary for you to make an agressive tactic as well (more attack) against weaker teams

Tried it as Farsley Celtic is the blue square north. My players had real issues adapting to this strategy, only 1 win from 5 games, 1 draw and 3 defeats

The original tactic has now been tweaked, still testing as I set it up with Chelsea but 2 wins for Spurs and a late comeback.

Any chance of the pkms for the matches you have posted screenshots of? I'd like to see the nature of those Clear Cut Chances you are creating

How do you do a pkm?

The goals scored are from a variety of chances as goals from corners are low and the AI does not concede many 1on1s.

Go to fixture, click Save and it saves it as a pkm (a match file viewable outside of the save game) in My Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2009 Demo/matches. Then upload to site of your choice.

No worries if you can't be bothered Just curious to see if you had cracked getting midfielders to slip balls in behind the defence in the final third which I thought you might have with the number of CCCs you created in those screenshots.

AI does not concede many 1on1s.

That kind of answers my question (unless you are talking about the conversion rate 'issue')

Did you untick free roles?

Is it possible that you could put a screenshot of your tactic in the first post?. I think it would be helpful in times to come.

Only Demo time atm, the tactic in 1st post is FM08 tactic without arrows see other thread. The current tactic is 41221. If it works after say 10 seasons of testing then I will provide more detail.

If you wish to test I will pm a copy but it is still WIP.

I have played few matches with your WIP tac without Free roles upfront because my attack isn't strong enough.

I play Lech Poznan - Polish first Division

as you can see i have issue with injures ( my best AMC has out for 5 months )

So far although there were mainly friendly matches tactic works quite well. Some nice looking passes, good defense.....
