I've seen own goals that should perhaps have been counted as deflections, particularly from free kicks, but I've not seen a shot that's not hit an opposition player be classed as an own goal. Tevez scored from a free kick but it counted as an own goal for the keeper probably because he got his fingers to it. Not every deflection is an own goal ffs.
