Pompeyboyz
At the moment my desktop specs are as follows: 1GB memory DDR (4x 256mb) ATI radeon sapphire x300 128mb 3.2Ghz P4 processor(dual core??) I am pricing up some new parts and will leave the processor as I feel it is ok for now(but I am confused if it is dual core as when I run the systemrequiremnts check it says I am running 2 processors). Now I have checked www.crucial.com and it says that I can get upto 4gb of memory into my motherboard but as I am only runnign 32 bit windows it will only recognise 3.5gb. I am also looking at an Nvidia GeForce 8400GS 512mb graphics card which is pretty much a show in due to financial limits. The question is will it really be worth going the whole 9 yards and getting 3.5gb of memory to help speed up the Pc or will 2gb be ample with the graphics card upgrade and processor I have? Mortified Penguin
Grab a 1 gb stick (xp) or 2 gb (vista) and that will be more than enough. The 8400gs would do the trick for FM09. You have an old single core cpu with hyper-threading, my old pentium used to think it had two processors too.

robzilla
... confused if it is dual core as when I run the systemrequiremnts check it says I am running 2 processors ... You have a single core processor with HT (Hyper-Threading). I have two of these in my system, my computer thinks it has 4 CPUs: http://www.zen102391.zen.co.uk/fm/4cpu.jpg
humanriff
I have gone from 1gb to 2gb and that did fabulous things for FM08.
