Is the demo more sluggish than FM08?

First, I have 4gb RAM, a dual core 3ghz CPU and a GF8800gtx.

Still, this demo feels very sluggish on my computer. When I click a button, it often takes a while for the game to react, and sometimes it doesen't react at all. When I switch between the different screens, there's a very noticeable delay before anything happens. In games, it gets even worse, not only are the games itself laggy, but I sometimes have to click several times on buttons for the game to register my action, and even then there's a small delay before anything happens.

I know it's not my computer or my setup, and it's not virus or anything like that, because it runs the same on my laptop. So why is the game so much more sluggish this year than last?

I have a 2GB dual core 1.8 Sony Vaio and an ATI Mobility 2300.

FM08 runs fine albetit a little unresponsive at times in the GUI.

FM09 demo is running great and is much, much faster and responsive in the GUI. 3D is fine too!

That's very strange. I wonder what's wrong.. do you run windowed?

Make sure you have the latest java & have rebooted, then make another judged opinion. I have a slightly better pc & it works like a dream..

I had some issues running the game full screen, heeded someone's advice and played windowed and haven't so far experienced any problems, albeit some jittery moments in the 3D match engine.

to be honest ive got much and such the same specs as you and im running the demo as fast anything.

And im in windowed mode btw, not sure if that makes any difference or not.
