What computer spec have you tried FM09 on? and how was it?

Recommended Posts

As there seems to be a lot of people unsure whether their computer will run FM09 or not, I thought it might be useful for people to post the spec of any PC or Mac that they've tried FM09 on and how it runs.

i've tried it on 2 PC's and played through to after the 2nd friendly on each just to test performance (matches on TV view 3D):

Desktop - self built: Runs fine - very responsive and smooth

E8400 Core2Duo CPU 3.0Ghz

4Gb DDR2 RAM

Nvidia 8800GT 512Mb graphics (running at 1680x1050 resolution)

Vista Home Premium 64bit SP1

Laptop - Dell Vostro 1310: Also runs fine and is very responsive and smooth

T9300 Core2Duo 2.5Ghz CPU

4Gb DDR2 RAM (only 3.2Gb useable as 32 bit O/S)

Nvidia 8400GS 128Mb graphics (running at 1280x800 resolution)

Vista Business 32bit SP1

Desktop

AMD Dual Core, 2x 2.01GHz

2GB RAM

ATI HD3870

Vista

All features work fine and dandy and with no slowdowns all by themselves. It's just that the game crashes all the time (and I do mean all the time) in a multitude of different places/actions/scenarios.

I think i have only got some intel graphics on my laptop (couldnt tell you what it is) im on vista 3Gb RAM and 2.0Ghz processor? Will this work ok??

I havent had time yet to download demo but hope to try it sometime this week. I take it the graphics is the most important thing? I'll be gutted if FM09 doesnt work on my laptop as I only got it a few month back and bought it mainly for FM

E6750 Core2Duo CPU 2.66Ghz

3.5Gb DDR2 RAM

Nvidia 8800GT 512Mb graphics (running at 1680x1050 resolution)

Windows XP Professional SP3

Runs more than perfectly. I was scared when I played my first two matches it was a bit jittery, I don't know how but it's like my computer got used to it, now it plays like James Bond holding a glass of Martini at a bar next to an attractive woman - very smooth.

Desktop

Asus P5KE Deluxe MoBo

Core2Duo E6850 @ 3Ghz

4GB Corsair XMS2 Pro PC6400 Cas4 834FSB

HIS IceQ3 Turbo 512MB X1950XT GPU

Vista Ultimate 64 bit

Runs absolutely fine, no more resource than FM08. Benches equally well.

Laptop

Dell XPS M1530

Core2Duo T7600 @ 2.5Ghz

4GB Crucial PC6400 DDR2 800FSB

NVIDIA GeForce Go 8600M GT 256MB GPU

Vista Ultimate 32 bit

Yeah it lacks the ruthless grunt of my desktop, but would still spank most laptops into ground, and handles FM beautifully.

No judder on either machine, smooth installs and smooth running.

Intel® 82945G Express Chipset Family -256mb available. Rather bizzarley when I go onto the Intel site it tells me there's a driver update available, yet when I use the update drivers option via windows it says I'm up to date.

Dual core 2140 @ 1.60 ghz

2.5gb RAM

can't run 3D.

Radeon x800 pro

High speed TV view highlights seem to be a bit too much to handle, but I suspect that's due to my clutter riddled system. More leagues and 50 years game time in full version might cause problems for me though..

Intel P4 3Ghz

2Gb RAM

NVidia FX 5200

Game runs otherwise fine, but 3D is very jittery even on lowest resolution and low details.

(Graphics card is just below the requirements, so can't really complain.)

3 year old DELL Precision M90

3Ghz Pentium (before all that new fangled Duo stuff)

4Gb RAM

FM09 is a little sluggish at times but works fine including 3d.

Welcome back to 'General discussion' Marc, you've been sorely missed!

can you get it installed?

i couldn't at first but when i right clicked on the set up icon on my desktop and looked at the properties, there was a tick box which said i needed to unblock it because it wasn't sure where i was downloading it from..

i unblocked it and away i went!!

Toshiba Satellite A100 laptop

CPU - Core 2 Duo T5500 - 1.66GHz

RAM - 2045MB

Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300

OS - Vita Home Premium SP1

Runs fine (full 3D).

I've got very similar specs, with same RAM and graphics, a superior CPU (T5600 at 1.83GHz) and a less demanding OS (XP SP3), yet it doesn't run fine. 3D has a lot of breaks on full settings, on low settings it runs better but still with a break or two.

3.4GHz Pentium 4

1gig RAM

128mb nVidia GeForce 6600

XP (w/SP2)

Processing through matches is getting a little sluggish but it has been for the last few releases. Everything else - works a dream. In fact, when it's not processing match results it outperforms FM08 on the same machine.

Just to update on my experiences - I wasn't able to play the game last night as the response was incredibly slow but after a reboot this morning it works fine - 3D inluded!! So if you are struggling reboot and load FM before doing anything else to see if it works.

Runs the game ok at the lowest screen resolution, 3d is a bit jerky

Desktop at Work:

Intel Pentium Dual Core 1.8Ghz

2GB Ram

XP Pro

G Force 730 512mb

Game runs smoothly, 3d runs smoothly too

*wonders if he can get away with swapping graphics cards between home and work!!!*

pompeyfan, you have integrated graphics correct?

That 0.8gb RAM doesn't have to go to waste, you can go into BIOS and assign RAM to graphics, as you have a 32bit OS and can only use 3.2gb, you may aswell use the 0.8gb on your graphics thus making it from a 128mb to like 900mb (or whatever it is).

That aside...

AMD Athlon X2 5000+ (overclocked to 5800+)

4GB DDR2 667 MHz RAM

250GB SATA HDD

ASUS M2A-VM Motherboard (integrated graphics, can't remember but I think its 256mb).

3d runs, bit choppy not too bad though.

Usually freezes on continue but like in windowed its not as often (just save after each game).

Hope this helps.

my home NEC laptop is similar to this make-up:-

intel celeron m processer 1.6ghz 1gb of ram;

don't know the graphics installed, but demo works ok - no 3d though....

my home PC is fine for most things, but was never going to run the demo or game, (hardware is 6 years old though)....

I already knew that, hence the need for a new build (currently in testing, but should be ready for the 14th November)....

Intel Quad Core, 3.5Ghz

4Gb RAM

512mb nVidia 8800GT

Vista SP1

Runs very smoothly. Only thing to note is that when loading the match engine, the game tends to stop responding and lock up. However, in every single case of this happening (touch wood) it has recovered within three seconds and been fine for the rest of the match.
