[FM09 Demo] Penalties

I've only had one but I was wondering what is everyone's experience with penalties, in Fm08 far too many was missed IMO. Vela shot straight at the keeper.

Anyone else had penalties and, perhaps, scored from them?

I just had a pen shootout with West Brom lol, third round of cup, I won 4-3..... No problems from here!

I've had one penalty shoot-out in the community shield, which i lost, and two penaltys against Hull who dimi berbatov shot straight at the keeper.

i've had 3 and scored them all.

I noticed in the 4 penalties I saw, the keeper did not even dive for a single one. Not right, not even close. Almost every penalty in real life has the keeper dive

The keepers never seem to dive

I've had two so far.. both misses..

I've only had one so far (scored) but I'd like to note that the keeper dived for it, for those that aren't noticing diving. That said, he went the right way and yet was nowhere near stretching to reach the ball and stop it going in the corner, rather he more kind of flopped onto his left side.

I've scored one. The keeper failed to react.

If you pay more attention to almost all recent fm releases with the 2d m.e., IT HAPPENS ALMOST THE SAME!The keeper also then, in most times he stayed stoned in the middle of the spot. But because of the 2d view we never took so much care about it. The 3d engine just made it more obvious now!

In 10 games of managing Luton (5 friendlies , 4 league games and 1 league cup game) along with 1 game of managing Farslay (Friendly) I have never had or conceded a penalty.

Alot of the missed penalties i have seen have hit the post or gone wide. yet to see da keeper make a save.

I have seen all the pens go in now goalies sometimes move on penalty kicks where as in FM08 a lot of the time the goalie just stood in the middle.

My experience is that they appear massively flawed, I've had around 6 penalty shoot outs and the keepers have not saved a single penalty in any of them. Each time the one player misses and that's the decider, the last one I lost 10-9 to portsmouth after Neville smacked one onto the bar. I regularly go past the 5 pens each

There's no way that Van Der Saar wouldn't have saved one penalty in 6 shoot outs...

I agree the penalties appear flawed in that the keepers don't move, all penalties that I have seen have gone in during normal play and the only one missed in a penalty shoot out I had appeared to hit the bar.

I've had 2 and both times the keeper has dived the right way and I have scored... in fact I would say that this is the first FM in ages where I haven't had any gripes (aside form the obvious injuries bug etc...)

The problem with penalties is the goalkeeper doesn't behave as you would expect him to

had 1 scored 1 so far, apart from a penalty shootout which i won 5-4

It seems that now the problem is too many scored then? One extreme to the other with SI

score few penalties in FM2009 with arsenal and not a problem for me...
