Bugs in FM 2009

Hello everyone.

Massive fan of the CM/FM series, but have been very dissapointed in recent games with the amount of bugs when it is first released. Can anyone tell me if any additional work has been put into trying to release FM09 without any bugs?

More people than FM2008? I hate to sound like a loser, but FM is all I do when i'm skint! Sadly, it's a very important part of my life.

Its the same engine as FM Live which had a massive beta a test (i think) so hopefully they could pick up a lot there.

Yeah, also the game is soming out later than it has in previous years because of the checking of the match engine and other bits and pieces. So hopefully there won't be too many.

It's a case of wait and see I suppose.

I got the impression that FM08 was rushed so it was released as early as possible.

I believe the game engine will be fine.. hopefully they've fixed the regens and transfers too. Anything else are probably minor flaws.

I found a south american spider in my copy, called the retailer and he said it was just one of those bugs that SI always put in. I said it wasn't funny and was upset when they wouldn't give me my money back

Of course we won't know about regens until the full game is out.

then again we've all seen the videos of the match engine where the commentary is flashing goal before the ball has left the striker's boot...SI aren't great at playtesting to be fair.

Doh! and I accused FML of draining FM09's testing resources.

i've been doing the beta testing on fml and to be honest the match engine aint great. i can only imagine the 3d view thing will also be very buggy as the 2d one was when it was released on champ 4. the match engine on fml doesnt look like an improvement to me and is one of the reasons i'm not going to pay for fml. i'll still buy fm09 as i always buy the new fm but like always wont get into it till the fix patch is released in jan as usual. in my opinion si is relying on the goodwill of addicts like us to keep going but i havn't seen much really happening to improve the match engine for years, same old same old just tarted up a bit.

Well, 3D will be the same as 2D, only in 3D. The match Engine is the same for all types - Commentary, 2D and 3D. You never see the actual match engine. All you see is the representatives of it's calculations. So if there is a pass down the left wing on 2D, and 2 players close down the winger, guess what? You will see the exact same thing in 3D...only in 3D.

I tested FML as well. The ME has seen more testing than any other previous games. I thought it was pretty good, and the amount of different goals was very noticeable.

The demo will be out in about 2 hours, lads. We can really see what it's like for ourselves then.
