Am I the only person who WON'T download the demo?

As the demo is only the english league, I wont be downloading until I know how the welsh league is working (final version). I know its 3D etc etc but I can wait for that.

Anyone else not dowloading for any reason?

I know there is for beta testers but not for gold demo as far as I'm aware

i won't bother then. i just want to check out the Scottish leagues and teams so that i can note any mistakes/transfers/alterations i need to make for the full game. the actual playing of the game i can wait a whole two weeks for quite easily.

I will downlaod just to see the 3d for myself.

I would have waited for the full game otherwise.

I want to see how well it runs on my laptop, and get a brief grip on the 3D and widgets in-match so I don't spend time faffing about when I start my real game on the 14th.

Don't think I will download it. Wait for my nice new DVD to arrive and put it in drive with a new slate. All FM08 issues behind me all the anticipation, new season new game new ideas and see how I get on.

i thought that the vanilla demo only has the english league but the strawberry version has 10 leagues? i may be wrong tho.

I'll have to play the demo to see if my computer handles the 3D match engine. But i think they're going to add 10 leagues in the demo.

Ill dl the strawberry version... i wanna check how B teams work and if Liga Intercalar is there (some sort of reserves league in Portugal (assuming the pt league will be there )

I'm not starting a proper game, I'm just gonna set up a game unemployed so I can see if 3D works on my laptop.

im just going to use the demo for getting a headstart in scouting, trying out various tactics and checking out the new features. i will start my serious games when the game truely arrives.

I started a similar thread recently. But I asked if I was the only one who doesn't care about the demo, which I suppose is slightly different. I can say that I won't be downloading it. I'm just not bothered about it. I already know I'll buy the game.

None of those are reasons for me to download the demo. I'm not saying you don't make a good point. I'm just saying that none of that will make me download it. I'll find out about the match engine, for example, when I get the game itself.

I am an adult with patience. I can quite happily wait for 2 weeks rather than spoil the surprise by getting the demo beforehand. I haven't seen any of the videos or blogs or whatever anyway.

this is true you will find out about the ME when you get the game. im not saying that you will not buy the game if you tested the ME inthe demo and didnt like it. i know this wouldnt stop me but to me it just makes sense to calm me down a bit before nov 14th. but to everyone things seem different i take my hat off to the previous poster too! holding out that far and not looking! i salute you!

I only have internet access at work so it is quite easy to avoid going to look at all the videos etc! I've never bothered with a demo of any game - I just take the plunge and buy a game if I like the sound of it. CM/FM I've been buying for the last 8 years so it's not as if it will be an unknown quantity even with all the additions.

My computer isn't good enough to run 09 anyway.

I'll download the (strawberry) demo to get acquainted with the teams I plan on starting as in the full game, to try out some tactics, but really only to keep myself occupied between then and the release of the full game. ^^

you got the strawberry and vanilla versions again this year which one has many leagues and the other has english

vanille has the fewest leagues with england and scotland. strawberry has 10 leagues.

In FM08 the germans regens showed up at the start of the game. And i think the demo last until Jan 8th, that's what i heard, so there will be time to check the brazilian regens too.

I've just had a peep at the match engine thread...awesome, I'll be downloading the demo at 00:01 on the 2nd November.

look for the suprisingly un/over rated players

check out tottenham stats could be any thing with how they were supose to and actually are playing .

what a joke to the world of football and life in general. Just because your own country does not appear means you are not going to download the demo. Are you one of these Welshmen who also refuse to leave the town they are born in because they think their lives shagging and farming sheep is far more advanced than other countries.

Just download it and see what the new features are like so you and your country do not fall even further behind than you currently are.

I'm not downloading the demo, but that's beacuse its too close to release date, as I am only free to play it after the 8th

plus download size is an issue...darn limits

The demo is good so that you can mess around with tactics, find new gems and leaner to layout of the menus.

Definetly downloading the spl and welsh leagues are very poor imo (apart from Celtic and Rangers) so it doesn't bother me.
