McGann10
As the question says, what will run better XP or VISTA because i would re-install XP on my VISTA PC lol
rsk360
i have vista on my laptop and i've had no problems with it whatsoever
McGann10
i just looked at the specs for the game and for vista you need 1GB ram minimum, but for XP you need 512MB minimum what would FM run best on ?? XP or VISTA ??
andyinuk
you can't vista properly with 512MB of Ram, hence the difference
V1adimir
With XP it will run better as Vista needs a huge part of RAM for itself. That's why the specs for the 2 systems are different
McGann10
So do you think i would be better of re-installing my home edition of windows because all i have is 1GB of RAM and i'm using VISTA or should i just buy more RAM ??

Jorgecelticfc
Im on 4GB of RAM, though using a Quad Core processor
andyinuk
RAM is pretty cheap so i would suggest you get more. even with XP it's nice to have 2Gb of RAM in your PC
McGann10
Cheers everyone will buy some RAM this weekend ready for the FM 09 release
MECAP
with vista either turn off aero or get 4gb ram -> vista with 4Gb = XP with 2Gb
iamweesel
I'm using XP with a 2 GB RAM. Should be fun
craigy18181
i had vista running football manager ok with 3 GIG of ram but I never used the "Housewives" Aero look. Because of the spec difference and to get the most out of FM09 i reinstalled my laptop with Windows XP MCE the other night. The difference in speed on FM08 Vista and FM08 XP is quite a bit. So personally I would use XP.
BuryBlade
I would go for XP mate XP has less bugs and doesn't require 512MB RAM for the system to run... therefore XP is maximising the speed it can go at as the system isnt taking some of your RAM... I have vista with 4GB RAM but thats only because XP wouldnt work on mine when i changed to it...
TheOriginalJez
with vista either turn off aero or get 4gb ram -> vista with 4Gb = XP with 2Gb Really? lol I know vista manage RAM slightly better than XP but honestly, I've certainly not noticed it that way round in reality... although I've also not had more than 2gb RAM for a vista system which it probably needs But of course the same spec system on XP would have more time for apps than the same spec system with Vista... vista needs more resources. There's probably a threshold nodding towards MECAP where the difference is negligible because of vistas management of resources but if you don't have some monster I'd say XP'd perform better, for the game itself. SmurfDude
An XP system with 2GB of fast ram is all you need for any game out there today. I played Crysis and Far Cry 2 on XP that had only 2GB of RAM and could alt-tab out and talk on MSN while they ran in the background. Is XP fast? You bet
Pr3D@T0r
How do you turn off Aero on Vista? I may do that for playing FM although FM08 ran like a dream, I'm more concerned about how smooth the 3D will run.
Alexandre
I'm sure FM09 will run better on Mac OS X 10.5 :-)
lfc_rule (and u kno it)
How do you buy RAM because I've got vista with 1GB and not sure it will be enough for the 3D match engine
