russ the womble Posted October 27, 2008 Share Posted October 27, 2008 I believe in a recent release, one software developer decided that they would allow users to download 99% of the game prior to release. Upon release day, they then made the final 1% available which people then downloaded and meant they were able to get the game working rapidly on release day whilst spreading the download bandwidth over the several weeks beforehand. Will SI implement such a policy for FM09? I don't think it would be too difficult to release 99% of the files on bittorrent and then release a final torrent on the day of release containing the final segment. I'm not sure if Steam can do this - maybe it can? I know however, given the load on this website and others, that such an option would surely be beneficial?
