Guest gherk
Hi all. I've recently bought a laptop and hence me using it rather than my desktop which is on its way out... However, I've just been told by a friend that you can't host on a laptop. Is this true? He can't connect to me and we're trying it exactly same as we did when I hosted on the desktop. Is there a way to work it or are we doomed until it's hopefully fixed in 09? Many thanks in advance chums

TheOriginalJez
I suspect that it's a case of a higher proportion of laptops being behind routers... 9 times out of 10 when people whine to me that they're starting a games server and it won't work the router is to blame. Make sure the necessary ports aren't blocked, or more to the point are specifically held open on some routers.
