Pre-Defined Stats

Are there any pre-defined stats for players in relation to their position?

I have read all the forums regatding this & it seems like everyone has their own opinion as to what should or shouldn't be included.

I have managed to get hold of an old FM 2007 manual which gives the very basics, but this must be surely be expanded.

Does this mean that it all depends on what you look for in a player or the tactics you employ or is there a basis that applies throughout the game.

Best ask in the Good Players forum, i'm sure they'll have guides as to what attributes are best for each position, but I doubt they will stray too far from what the manual already says.
