Easier to play with 06 or 08?

I played FM06 & FM08 and I had way more success in my career in 06 than in 08. I wonder, is the AI easier to beat in 06?

Yeah, the AI is easier to beat in FM06 imo.

yeah i found 06 a bit easier but enjoy 08 alot more

I can't remember because it was a long time since I played 06. Last time I played it was in 2006! surprise surprise.

I think there's been a big change in the AI's ability to cope with tactics since 06. Whilst there are still tactics in 08 that exploit the match engine I think its a lot harder to do than back in the days of 06 (Diablo tactic etc). I guess this is going to progress even further with fm 09 and further installments of the series, which at the end of the day is a good thing as it adds to the realism.

Another thing I found in FM06 is that there are a lot of VERY good regens compared to FM08. Also, I'm my Spain/Germany/France/England/Italy game, Italian players became very popular and there are a lot of them who are really good.

hardly remember 06, but i do know that i have never enjoyed fm more than 08 so i would have to say 2008 is better!

2008 is a good game. There was a lot of criticism when it first came out but i definitely enjoy it more than i enjoyed any others.

2006 "cracks tactics" so unless you are using a crazy tactic AI can not cope with you have to change the way your team plays every now and then .

Yup, it's the natural progression of a supposed "simulation", rather than a "just for fun" game.

The AI is constantly being made more sophisticated so I would assume it got harder from 05 to 06 through 07 and 08.

09 will be harder still.

I can't get the hang of tactics in FM08 (or all the team talks crap) so FM06 was definitely easier. I won the Champions League with Icelandic side Grindavik in FM06...the very idea of doing that in FM08 is a very very long way off, nevermind the actual achieving of it!

thats because it will never happen and therefore more realistic lol. I only use 1 team talk before a game "I expect you to win", 1 at half time if they're doing crap "I Expect more from you", 3 after a game "You were rubbish, Good result or sensational".

If the game were totally realistic on what is likely to happen no-one would play it apart from those who somehow manage to enjoy managing the likes of Manchester United!

Realism has to stop at a point though and an attempt to maintain the fun factor has to be made, what's the point of including an Icelandic league if you have no chance of ever performing above the odds?
