MikaelS
Hi, Just wanted to know if it was written somewhere which leagues Sigames hasn't got a license for for FM 08/09 and why. Thanks
VonBlade
EPL, Bundesliga and European competitions are the main ones. That'll be because another company has exclusive rights to that license (coughEAcough) or because it's prohibitively expensive to get it.

Was just wondering if there was an official Sigames announcement about it somewhere..

Ninjamark
When you say all rights, you mean exclusive rights so no other computer game can use them. Leagues can sell multiple rights, but can only sell one lot of exclusive rights
rancer890
SI only obtains MLS rights for the current season. So you can't play as the new expansion teams like Seattle (2009), Philadelphia (2010) and the 2 new ones yet to be determined in 2011.

rancer890
At least, not until 2012. I reckon even more expansion teams will be in place by then. MLS won't be fully playable (as in you can't play with the new expansion teams as you go deeper into the game) until I don't even know when.
SI Staff Ter Posted October 19, 2008 SI Staff Share Posted October 19, 2008 We've not made any announcements about licensing and would talk about the ones we have rather than ones we don't. It may be included in a future blog or something.

I heard they want to get to about 18-20 teams max. If they do go above that, though, I feel they must get a second tier (perhaps inviting USL teams?).
