FM 09 Demo

History dictates that I demo of Football Manager normally is available to download prior to the disc arriving in the shops. With the advertised release date being 1 month away, does anyone know when the demo is likely to be available ?

Also, how many of you will be bothering with the 'Steam' download option, and who will be purchasing the actual game ?

Do a search before posting - There's been about 10 FM09 demo threads made in the last day or two

But I've got a feeling it's going to get much worse as we come closer to release date - Actually I'm pretty much certain of it

I'm actually hoping it will be out before the end of this month as we normally get a good few weeks with the demo before the full game gets released.

Can people start being nice to each other? If it bothers you that people come on to the Football Manager forums asking about a Football Manager demo availability then stay out of those topics and leave it to people to give constructive replies.

We usually release the demo a couple of weeks before the game is released and we'll be turning our attention to that once the game has gone gold.

Wouldnt it be better to release the demo maybe, a month or month and half before release of the full game?

That way, people can find bugs errors etc before its released to the public.

The game is being beta tested as we speak. SI release it once the game has gone gold and then "if" there are any bugs found in and between that time, a patch tends to make it for the release date.

If its being beta tested, then thats ok. Most bugs should be picked up then.

Hopefully, someone will see how good regens are in 10-15 years time. I cant be doing with regens being no good again. Ruined the last two games.

SIgames have done public beta testing in the past. But unfortunately a minority ruined it for the rest of us.

Generally two-three weeks - hence the lead time on the demo being what it is. Give or take a few days of course for transportation to shops/warehouses.

Hopefully, someone will see how good regens are in 10-15 years time.

I'm sure a community member will do some extensive testing very quickly. It's been such a discussed shortcoming and there are many managers very interested to see if it's improved.

Especially when members of the SI team are taking there time out to answer our questions, even though they have heard them a hundred times before they still answer politely and with respect, yet some posters maintain on sounding so sarcastic and sneidy when they post. Seconded. The customer support and responses that we get from SI is unlike any other game and that is why I am always on this forum and many people aswell.

What harm does asking do, I will always be willing to answer and if you are so angry and get so worked up over these threads then ignore them.

Why do people bother to be rude, calling names and pointing out where the search-button is? It would take a lot less to say "The demo will most likely be out 2-3 weeks before release".

Besides if these threads can bother you enough to insult the people making them, why not just leave them alone? They don't take up much space on the boards really as they drop pretty quickly. When the thread title is "FM 09 Demo" you should at least expect that the thread is about when the demo will be out. Just don't click then!

When the team have finished with making the game and start concentrating on the manufacturing and sales!

When it goes gold it means the game is ready and away to production. The demo is then a reduced time (6 months) playable game

Small question about the demo, I've heard that you can continue your game into the full version. Does that mean just copy your saved game folder? I can't remember how to do it.

The folders remain the same,until you don't change the main game's target folder while installing.Also you can continue,by clicking quick start,and browse for where-ever your file is kept,so it doesn't make much of a difference
