Relegation battles brings out the worst of teams

Recommended Posts

Scenario:

Season 2011-2012, Birmingham 2 points clear of relegation with 10 matches to go. Ipswich the chasing team. Ofebema Martins 27 matches 17 goals, Shane Long 24 matches 10 goals, Cameron Jerome last years top goalscorer, this years disaster. McFadden scores just as often as I do...

28th match of the season: Birmingham-Ipswich

4th min: 0-1 Ben-Haim

21st min: 1-1 McFadden

29th min: Martins injured - Sprained ancle (1 month) - Long brought on

42nd min: 2-1 McFadden

54th min: 3-1 Long

65th min: Long injured - Torned hamstring(3 months) - Jerome brought on

70th min: Jerome injured - Gashed arm - no subs left

Final score 3-1

Okey, I know I won the important match. But at what cost? Seems like Ipswich knew they wouldnt stand a chance in the match, so they decided to go after my strikers hoping they could make the rest of my season a hell. And they have :( My top goalscorers out for rest of the matches, leaving me with a striker who wont score this year(in a week, when his arm is better) and McFadden who scores a goal or two every ten matches.

So unprofessional of Ipswich:mad:

Oh well - I just love this game:D
