homerjnick
Just a small question for SI Coders: How many lines of code are there in FM09? What language is FM written in? Just for my curiousity!
The Hornet
I would of thought it would of been written in C++ as most games/program are now
homerjnick
Thats what I thought too but wondering if a coder can confirm that? Maybe they are too busy...
Neji
I'm pretty certain I've read somewhere that is c++.
Geronimo360
Yeah it will more than likly be C++. I wonder how many lines of code they have though? I get confused typing about 200 in at school for my ePortfolio but i would guess theres well over 5000
bigdunk
It's definitely C++, because that's pretty much all they ever ask for in job adverts. In terms of lines of code, I would guess you're talking somewhere in the order of 1-10 million.
trekman
I'm pretty certain I've read somewhere that is c++. Yeah I seem to recall that as well.
glamdring
Number of lines of code would definitely be of the order of millions rather than 5000!
the--dud
5000 lines of code in FM09, that'd be funny haha
x42bn6
For comparison, Vista has roughly 50 million lines of code, OpenOffice 10 million, GIMP 0.65 million and Paint.NET 0.13 million. I'm guessing it will be around 2 million lines of code - I don't think it will have more than OpenOffice. And I'm sure it's written in C++ which is probably the most viable program to write a game in.
