wardog
now IIRC a player who is under 24 must have a contract offered or he can leave for free. So when West Ham bids for the player(who has only been at the club a week) who just got promoted from my youth team i offer a contract. He accepts West Ham fair enough. BUT WHERES MY BLOODY COMPENSATION. Theres no way i can sign him back hes now valued at £2.6M and i need to improve first team affairs.

Maple
You did offer a contract with equal or better terms compared to his current and you play with an English club? If so, I guess you should have gotten compensation.

smithers08
You only get compenstion if the terms of the contract are equal or better . As it would be unfair to get compensation if you are offering less wages than he is already on.
wardog
I offered him double pay and a £16K signing on fee. and No im Rangers does the player going south of the border affect it.
Nobby_McDonald
Did West Ham make their offer before you offered the contract? If they did, you were too slow and won't get any compensation.
wardog
Yea they did. Thats probably why. Unfortunety he was a great talent aswel and the only youth whos axcited as much as that is now a first team player over Augusto Fernadez and Gelson Fernandes and Barry Ferguson. the blue ferret
It is annoying when you want to sign young Out of Contract player and have to pay a compo for them, but you never get it yourselves when teams take your youngsters
sten_super
It's due to the fact that you are Rangers. Clubs in different nations can sign under-24 players for free, it is only within the same country that compensation is due.
Nobby_McDonald
Yea they did. Thats probably why. There you go then. You've shot yourself in the foot. When West Ham made their offer, you hadn't made one and therefore West Ham won't have to pay any compensation at all.
wardog
I usually spend a week thinking over who to offer contracts to. When he was 16 i was considering it. West Ham made the bid the day day he came out of the academy.
