In July my goalkeeper Alan McGregor was moaning he wanted a fresh challenge. As a result i brought in Igor Ankifeev for £30M not expecting ever to make my money back unless a few years Euro success. However in January i still hadnt sold McGregor and Arsenal(who already broke my record sale with Hutton for £28.5M 2 seasons ago) decided they wanted my keeper Ankifeev. I demanded £37M and they took it. He accepted and in 6 months id made a £7M profit(excludeing wages which wouldnt make £7M anyway).

Adam Rooney on Loan from Stoke (bear in mind I play Lower League football...)

Best piece of business I have no idea, but fairly obviously tends to involve players I sign on Bosmans. In FM07 I brought Diego to Derby County on a Bosman and he ushered in an era of sleak attractive football and 3 EPL titles so I guess he was good business even though I never sold him.

yeah, in terms of signing a player being good business, mine would be joao moutinho on a free. i use the galactico's tactic's in this particular save, and in europe he has been in the top two scorer's every season. great mental stats makes him a brilliant tutor as well, so he's also improved a load of my regens

Best bit of bussiness: Selling Van Persie with less than 6 months on his contract for 28 million

Worst bit of bussiness: Signing Nasri for 37 Million and selling him 2 seasons and 20 odd games later for 16 million.

If you had a passing knowledge of the long term finances in FM07 then you would be aware that by 2030 every major club had >£300m transfer budget.

And fwiw the 19yo was easily better than messi currently is. Finishing, composure, pace, decisions, anticipation, positioning, technique all 19+ as well as being two footed and with 15+ in passing, dribbling etc - there were several issues with some regens becoming too good in FM07, this was one of those.

The reason i sold him was that i play with one up front and his strength and aerial ability were relatively poor.

I bought Felipe from Udinese for Rangers for £10m in the third season. He did well and he was consistant. Milan came in for him at the start of the fourth season and I sold him for £15m ( I know not much of a profit but I bought a lot players to replace Felipe anyway). My scout recommended a young goalkeeper from Norway who i snapped up as a 17 yr old for 250k. He waited in the reserves for about a year until I got fed up with having Kameni's gaffs and inconsitency.

Goal keeper wnet on to become a wonderkid, his value shot up. I sold Kameni, promoted the Norwegian to no.1 and then sought a replacemnt no. 2.

I signed a GK regen from Sporting on a free called Gomes. he was good but not brilliant. The Norwegian played 2 more years and was performing great.....then Juventus bid 24m and 20% of next transfer. i reluctantl accepted......because by this time the Portugese Gomes had become even better , a wonderkid himself. ive been rejecting bids of 25m for him but this time am standing my ground as he is immense and at the age of 26 now world class.

I could have gone as AC manager and made the transfer or edited the player or or or....or maybe after playing 20+ seasons the major clubs had more money than they should, which led to an increase in transfer prices, coupled with the manner in which i distributed the payments the AI club deemed this acceptable.

Mine would be the sale of Isiah Osbourne, the DM that played for Coventry (i think - it was in FM05 or maybe earlier). As usual, he had become the best DM ont he game and Real Sociedad came in for him, i tried to scare them off by asking for 100 million pounds. They duly accepted, so off he went to Spain and off i went, laughing all the way to the bank.

About 6 months later Sociedad had gone into administration - someone couldnt really afford 100m me thinks - so one quick phone call to the desperate chariman and back comes the best DM in the world for 40m. 60m is 6 months! Awesome!
