Team or individual

does it make any difference if you you give the team talk as a whole or give each player an individual talk?

depends you could have a very good overall performance say majority of the team at 8's and one at 5. Id praise the team and be angry at the 5.

it depends on the player, how the match is going, how the team is performing, what you did in the last few team talks etc etc etc etc

Basically it would be hard to give a general "yes" or "no" answer to your question, there are too many factors that control what happens during a team talk.

Different words of encouragment need to be given to certain players . I choose team , then select individualts.

No - SI indicated in a post a long while back that the "Base Team Talk" is taken as the single most-common talk that you give.

So, if you said your base Team Talk was "Well Done", but then gave "Delighted" to eight players ... it would re-interpret that as a base Team Talk of "Delighted" with "Well Done" given to the other three players.
