Work permit question

I'm playing FM2008 and am in my first season as Chelsea boss, just signed Breno from Sao Paulo in the Jan '08 window but his WP application was turned down but I still signed him... immediately sent him out on loan to Westerlo.

Can someone tell me how long it takes for him to get a WP and how I can appeal again for him to have a WP?

You have to wait until he gets citizenship in the country you sent him on loan. The length of time it takes depends on what country you sent him to.

It takes 3 years to get citizenship in Belgium I think.

If he gets Belgian citizenship, which takes 3 years, he will not need a WP. By offering him a new contract it will apply him for a WP.

Remember though that he might not decide to take Belgian citizenship and there is nothing you can do to convince him to.

Yeah Spain is your best bet but i think it is only with spanish speakin players isnt it? would he be able to send a Brazilian? i thought it was Argentinian players you could do that with?

Get a feeder club in europe (bes tif you get Belgium) then he will gain a EU passport in 3 seasons.

You can send Brazilians to spain for 2 years, I have with Arsenal.

It also depends on the role you offer them in the contract offer - I signed a player requiring wp offering squad rotation and it was turned down. I needed him for the team immediately and so offered him another contract offering key role and his work permit was approved - I got no message saying this but he was available to play for me.

Actually this rule applies to spanish speaking countries not just south american ones. Cant remember who all these countries are but a quick look on google should tell you which ones have spanish as their language.
