PC/Mac Lan Game

Having just switched from PC to a Macbook, I'd like to know whether I'm likely to encounter any problems with continuing a FM 2008 LAN game with a friend of mine still running and hosting the game on a pc.

The reason why we just don't try it is that we previously ran the game via hamachi (recommended!), but I don't know my mac well enough (yet!) to be able to set it up on my mac, and to make matters even more complicated, I am also at fault in mistakenly changing some network protocol settings on my friend's pc, which since has prohibited me from connecting directly to his ip.

On Sunday, we will try to fiddle once more with his network settings, but it would be quite nice to know beforehand whether we could just as well forget about it (i.e. PC/MACs can NOT play on a LAN game together)

If possible, I'd also be greatful if anybody could pass some info on how to reset network protocols to default values (Windows Vista Home ed.)
