ridley challenge- trollz utd

Considering everyone is making a thread for their report, I'm doing so for mine.

Btw I've finished the challenge. In my first season.

Was a very hard challenge but I got lucky to be given a team with such a strong strikeforce.

Jully+august report.

Started with a 3-5-2 formation,

with barry and gerrard as mc supporting lampard as amc. Drogba+pizzaro as strikers.

Attacking, normal, most individual passing set to center.

Doesn't work too well in pre-season.

Won 2-0 against bournemouth

drew 1-1 against tranmere

drew 0-0 against oldham

in all 3 matches, I made less than 5 shots on goals. And less than 50% possession. Against the like of oldham.

Decided that this formation is not attacking enough, I changed into a 3-4-3 formation.

Attacking, long.

Barry-gerrard-lampard-milner in the midfield (all english!)

pizzaro+drogba+doyle as strikers.

Even worse.

I might get more shots on goal, more possession, but kept leaking goals.

Lost 0-2 against fc highbury, drew 1-1 and 0-0 against sauber fc and strathcarnage in premier division,

barely screpped through AEK with 3-2 aggregate in champion league qual.

September report. With the new month, I decided to use a new formation.

I changed into a conventional attacking 4-4-2,

attacking/normal +normal

pizarro+ drogba

Started doing great.

Won 3 in prem, and drew one.

Suffer in other competitions.

Was leading against valencia in champion league group stage 1-0 before scott carson get red card. Lost the match 2-3.

Lost league cup 3rd roung against fbk kaunas 0-1

replaced pizarro with doyle as my main striker somewhere in the middle of the match.

Doyle doing really great. Even scores more oftenly than drogba.

His 20 finishing might contribute to it.

Champion league:

lost 2-3 against marseille. Well. Can't be helped. Scott carson is suspended, so I have to put boa morte (!) as gk.

Barely beat genk 1-0

won 3 lost 1 in prem.

November report.

After the lost against LSD, even after I lead them 3-1, I started using defensive+counter and a little individual settings to give my tactic more alternative.

Mostly used when I'm winning an away game and need to grind out result, or already win a tough home game by 2 goals.

Lost against fc lsd 3-4, and win my other 2 games.

In champion league, used that new tactic to grind two 1-0 win against valencia and marseille.

December.

Doyle is on fire! Scored in every single game on december.

Won 5 lost 1 in prem.

Destroyed genk 3-0 in champion league.

December update.

I finally find a formation that suit my team perfectly, and has been doing really great this past 3 months.

From 4th in CL group stage after 2 matches, I won the next 4, to qualify as the group winner.

Even better, my team raise to 1st after some amazing results.

So let's look at the players that allow me to be where I am now.

Let's just say that there are a lot of surprise.

Top goal scorer. it's not drogba. It's doyle. it's not even close. 17 doyle 11 drogba.

Most assist. with lampard, barry, gerrard in my team, drogba stole the limelight somehow with 10 assists.

Highest average rating is doyle with a solid 8.0 rating

most man of the match is drogba, the newly born unselfish striker.

most bookings is...... captain marvel himself with 8 yellows.

most red card: stand up, scott carson!

most appearance: I'll let you take a guess. a. drogba. B. gerrard c. lampard. D. silvestre. (hint: french, arsenal player)

Highest scoring match is a 3-4 loss to fc LSD.

biggest win is 4-1 against drunken yobs

biggest defeat is 1-3 vs jjs allstars.

the competition is very great, mostly in mid table, with only 8 points separating the 6th to the 15th.

January.

Changed some individual settings. Can't recall what changes I made as I was in college and can't write the change I made in notepad (I normally do for report). I fixed the attacking and defensive free kick based on headings and shootings. That's the only thing I remember. I think I play around with through ball too, allowing gerrard to do more of it.

Not exactly a great month in premier league. Won two lost one drew one.

Got through FA cup 5th round, beating PJ's elite 3-0 and yeovil 5-1

February.

After the bad results, I fell to 2nd in prem.

Won all 3 of my prem matches 1-0

won 5-0 against swansea in FA Cup.

Drew 2-2 against real madrid in champion league

March,

after that 3 1-0 win, now even on point with epworth town, the 1st in prem.

However they have much more superior goal difference than me.

Won 3 drew 2 in prem.

Won 2-1 against madrid to get me through to QF stage of the champion league.

Won 2-1 against west brom in FA cup QF.

Drew inter next in champ league. Urgh.

April. Very busy month.

A lot of matches.

However I'm glad that I'm doing really great in this important month.

On the contrary, something seems to happen to my rival, epworth town, who just happened to fell apart.

They threw 5 points against weak teams before they even face me on the 19th. After I won, that 7 points gap (they were leading me by 1 point at the start of the month)is impossible to close.

Won all of my prem league matches.

Won against inter in away goals after a 3-3 agg.

Won against cska moskow in champ league semi final 4-1 agg

and finally, may.

Already crowned champion, so I used my bench squad in my remaining 2 matches.

Won 1 drew 1.

Amazingly, drogba decided to get injured in training at the very wrong time.

Can't play in fa cup finals. Pizzaro, his replacement, score both goals in that match, so I can't complain.

Still lost the match in PK though.

And champion cup final.

After inter, madrid, and CSKA, I found that my opponent in the final is:

Sporting CP (is that the same as sporting lisbon?)

forced the unfit drogba to play in the match.

Won it easily 3-0

FC highbury is 8th, only 3 points off and +1 goal difference compared to 4th. you were so close to the champion league spot.

I think that the source of your problem is that the AI consider bendtner highly. too highly. He became your main striker in the game, while keane and samaras became his subs. 35 matches, 3 goals, and 6.88 ratings. I wouldn't even put him in the bench if I were the manager.

in my game bendtner is always on the bench i play Keane and Epalle up front!
