Ryan,,,
I was just wondering what decides where the media predicts your finishing position. Is it done on reputation, team value, or what?
Nomis07
Probably reputation and previous league finish.
Ryan,,,
Ok, ta. Damn ten characters!
scrawney
I think it's reputation and each player in the squads average rating from last year. I don't think it's previous league position as when I won the Championship and Man City were 2nd, I was predicted to finish 15th in EPL and they were predicted to finish 10th. Mike7077
Previous league finish is probably the most important factor. I would hope that squad strength plays a part, too.
Nomis07
I would hope squad stength/ability wplays a part, but there are too many variables to take into account, ca, pa, value, squad status, age.
Ryan,,,
Well, when I go up from the BSS to the BSP, I always seem to be predicted to finish worse out of the 4 promoted clubs.
Mike7077
If we're talking the Premier League, I suppose money should be taken into account too. Maybe.
Ryan,,,
Well, as well, in my current game(as Bath), I won the Sultana Shield last season to, beating numerous BSP sides on the way to the cup. Should that not account for anything either?
Nomis07
The Sultana Shield I assume that was intentional. I suppose if you were promoted unexpectedly the low rating for the following season is understandable.
Ryan,,,
Well, I was predicted to finish 12th the previous season. The Sultana Shield is just something we use a lot a thread in LLM:D Its now something you say without noticing it.
Nomis07
That explains it then, if Derby were predicted 12th but against all the odds managed promotion they would be given a low chance of doing well the following season, their success would be regarded as a flash in the pan. Rightly so TBH.
viperk1
Just a few examples from my Fm 07 game... Sheff Utd 06/07 - predicted 18th, actual finish 6th (thanks to me...^_^) Sheff Utd 07/08 - predicted 10th Everton 06/07 - predicted 10th, actual finish 5th (damn you!) Everton 07/08 - predicted 5th Luton Town 06/07 - predicted 12th, actual finish 1st (promoted) Luton Town 07/08 - predicted 20th (EPL) Birmingham City 06/07 - predicted 2nd, actual finish 2nd (promoted) Birmingham City 07/08 - predicted 18th (EPL) Sunderland 06/07 - predicted 3rd, actual finish 4th (promoted via playoffs) Sunderland 07/08 - predicted 15th Make sense of all that, people - since I haven't got a clue. ^_^
