It's a sign of things to come in real life football, absolute madness

Why in God's name would you put a 17 y/o youth player on 130,000 a week?

Different, I know, but Messi is on 245,000 a week on my game.

I offered him a five-year-contract with a yearly wage rise of 25% and this is what it's come to.

I bet my board loves that. ;)

Average Rating of 5.92, well done with that kind of money coming in every week!

I did that aswell but he left on a bossman cause my board would only let me offer 150,000

I'm in danger of losing Messi on a free as well. Tried to offer him a new contract, but he wants 180,000 and I can only offer 125,000.

This may be explained by the currency bug in FM08.

Sometimes the currency changes to a completely random one, but the symbol remains the same (i.e. It changes from to Danish Kroner, but you still see the sign everywhere).

Then again, Man Utd might just have too much cash to spend. Either that or he's Fergie's lovechild.

For some reason, I'm paying Nani 165,000 a week. Ronaldo and Anderson want parity. Great.

Meh, its not that much. I'd never pay a player over 100,000 though

It's not a lot in comparison to what some people are posting, but bear in mind it's Man. United with big debts to pay off. To pay three players that kind of money is pretty hefty in the circumstances.
