I remember in the Magazine there was a feature in it, that had Football Managers wives and it would interview Women who's fellas where playing FM. It was brilliant to read what some of them thought.

My missus plays FM quite a bit she is currently playing as Blackburn and doing brilliantly I am a bit jealous of her game, what if she becomes better than me?

when she's not in open her game up on FM and start editing her players using fmm so she lose in future. She'll never know.

No because I'm 23 and refuse to be tied down to a woman at such a young age. So no my girlfriend doesn't try to control my gaming habits, and that's how it shall stay, even when we move in together :)

Since I have no missus (form an orderly queue ladies), I can't say that my missus moans.. but my entire family - mum, dad and sister are always moaning. From "you spend too much time on that flipping game" to "why are you watching dots? it's pointless".

Most of mates are the same but luckily my best mate is the one person who is as addicted to me except he refuses to play online now after I finished above him as Falkirk when he was Celtic :D

07-09-2008, 16:21
actually she doesn't moan much about fm because it's not obvious. I mean it's silent and it's a pc game so it looks like I'm just surfing the internet. She sometimes moans about me playing playstation, but the real problem is me spending the weekends watching football on tv and live in stadium :) I'm turkish, and she just doesn't get why I watch "all those games from the leagues of the foreign countries like england and spain", so though I play fm uite a lot, it's not a main issue :)

There was a post a while ago from a chap whose wife moaned about him watching dots on a screen and she christened the game Championship W**ker to which he replied "actually that should be Football W**ker!". When she would look over his shoulder to see what he was doing she would say "what are you doing? Oh you are w**nking again!".

I love Coronation Street, it's the only time I get to play FM. 7.30 = daughter asleep and wife watching Corrie, it's the only one she watches and anything else she wants to watch I would probably want to watch too. So I get about 30 mins a day, which sucks and explains the 9 months it's taken me to play 14 seasons (2 of which I completed on a week off sick).

I used to quite often stay up till 2-3 am playing FM, with the wife saying "are you not coming to bed"? My answer "I'll be in, in a minute". Knowing full well I will be on it for a good 3 or 4 more hours.

These days I have 2 to 3 nights a week (depending on work) on FM, the rest in bed at the same time as the wife or at work. As you can see by the time of this post this has been a FM night.

My girlfriend actually tells me to play it on my laptop in bed. She has to get up earlier than me in the morning and says that if I don't play it I either 'move around lots or make noise' and she can't sleep.

I think fm saves us a few arguements in fairness.

My missus moans about eveything apart from FM.
It's probably down to the fact that when i play FM, I'm quiet and I don't interrupt her while she watches her fave TV shows CSI and Jeremy Kyle.

nehpets81

3 things that make the missus moan

Talking about FM
Talking about Footie 24/7 with mates
Something else which I don't care to go into too much detail about on the forums...

In spite of this shes surprisingly quiet and doesnt mind when it does come to playing fm. Always get an hour or so of quiet time in the evenings after work where shes got the telly and I got the comp and good old fm.

My missus actually likes football more than I do...but everytime she looks at the computer screen for more than 5 minutes at a time she gets a headache...

Why is it that they always want you to do things with them (like watch the latest rubbish reality tv show) but it never works the other way around?

Anywho...I've gotten around it all by sneaking out of bed in the middle of the night and playing in the wee hours of the morning - then back to bed before she even knew I was gone!!

then again its ok for me to say it about my missus.

I must admit that when I first read the thread title I thought this was going to be an entirely more risque discussion altogether

As it is my missus tends not to moan much about FM. I've found that if I stick it on auto-continue once all of the pre-season stuff is done then I'm usually ok to just concentrate on the game when it gets to a match day. She does bring it up every now and again if we fall out, but as long as she's not nagging me while I'm playing it then I can live with it.

Whoever it was who said they took their laptop and FM on holiday with them needs to get out more though. My gf fiancee definitely wouldn't be happy if I did that!!

When we copulate, I thrust my girlfriend from behind in the canine position in order to rest my laptop on her back, and continue my FM career.

Funnily enough, a frequent occurance for my girlfriend is that she thinks that I have reached sexual climax, but it was realised to be a celebration of a match winning goal, or even sometimes the delight at am improved transfer budget.

i'm not quite sure what she is saying whilst i'm playing FM, I'm sure it's bad though!!

used to be with a girl that loved the game, we played a long running hotseat game as Real Madrid (her) and Valencia (me) in CM03/04, I helped her at first because she was shocking, but at the end I only won the league by a couplf of points!

she actually ended up stealing the game from me when we broke up!
