Has it happened before?

In wales the league is changing to a 2 tier structure from 2009/2010 , can this be implemented in the game?

not in the game but I did suggest it with playoffs being scrapped and reducing the number of teams in the Premier in future seasons in the wishlist

If the change to the league stucture is already confirmed then it can be hard coded into the game to take effect at the same time it would in real life.

The Germany and Serbian (I think) leagues were both restructured within the game, although I can't remember which years.

Germany leagues restructure itself at the start of the 2nd season in FM08.

Germany leagues restructure itself at the start of the 2nd season in FM08.

Same happens with the Irish Eircom League in the second season on FM 08 - switches from 12 teams to 10.

Excellent, I'll look for it in FM09 then.

I'm not sure this would happen as it would mean putting in a load of new teams. When the German league was restructured the new league was formed from teams in other divisions already in the game.

Nah, all that is happening is the premier is splitting into 2 tiers. so clubs would basically just split, based on franchaise (facilities, league position etc)

its needed it for a long time, there are 4 or so high quality clubs, 8 or so decent ish clubs, and 4 joke clubs

might make clubs prepare a bit more for the top flight,it'll make fm more interesting anyway....as long as its been implemented
