rinso
must be too long til his contract expires, or his wages are too high. see if he'll accept mutual termination...
Socdk
Just let him rot in the reserves... What's the difference?

corn_onthecurb
Maybe your board feel he is a key player or if he is a youngster a hot prospect.
4457
Having to spend money to release a player, assuming your board doesn't block it, means he has a while to go on his contract and you have to compensate the remainder of his contract. The board doesn't set the value.
trekman
must be too long til his contract expires, or his wages are too high. see if he'll accept mutual termination... If his wages are too high then your board probably won't allow a mutual termination either since the compensation would be rather high. I've tried mutual termination before to get rid of some staff and the board always block it if the compensation is, in their view, too excessive.
