High Expectations - Anfield

Recommended Posts

After Liverpool's poor performance in the Premiership last season Tom Hicks and George Gillet have decided that Anfield needs a fresh start and therefore sacked Rafael Benitez with immediate effect. Replacing the Spaniard will be rookie manager Ben Ashley, a 30 year old who joins from Nottingham Forest's coaching staff. Many believe that Ashley simply doesn't have the criteria to manage a club of Liverpool's stature and voices of concern have already begun only hours into Ashley's reign.

Liverpool have told Ashley they expect great success in every area this season and failure to do so will result in immediate dismissal. Ashley will have £29,000,000 to spend with a wage budget of £1,500,000.

Ashley has said he is currently happy with his playing staff and no players will be considered for transfer until he has fully assesed his squad.

In other news Peter Gulacsi has returned to MTK after Ashley cancelled his loan deal.

What is your expectations for the Anfield Club?

To meet the expectations of the board and fans, which is succeed in every area this season. We aim to win every competition we enter.

Do you think you can win over the Fans?

Only time will tell, however my intentions remain focused on the success of Liverpool and not Ben Ashley at this moment in time.

What formation are you manly using?

An emphasis attacking 4-4-2. Reina, Arbeloa, Aurelio, Carragher, Hyypia, Babel, Pennant, Gerrard, Rakitic, Kuyt and Torres.

Where, of all places do you need to Strenthen?

I believe we have plenty of goalscorers and this has shown. However we are leeking to many goals which will always come with an attacking team. I will be looking to see better performances defensively over the coming weeks.

Thank you for your questions! Keep them coming!

All managers have achieved varied levels of success at this club and it's difficult to be compared due to the different periods of time they have all been at the club. However I feel I have a special group of players with the desire to suceed, with this I am confident we can achieve great things at the club and hopefully I will be part of that. In relation to your question I have the potential to win more silverware than any other manager before me, also I could win nothing at the club.

Mr Ashley Sir, may i hit you up with a few questions?

Are you concerned with your big upcoming Champions League match against arguably the most historic team in the competition in recent years?

Are you confident you will be able to maintain your lead over manchester United or do you feel one slip up and they could stomp back up and give you a tough run.

And finally, are their any aspects of your squad you will be changing in the summer? Any particular transfer targets you have liked the look of?

Certainly

(Before the game)

I believe it is a fantastic oppurtunity for Liverpool FC to shine on the big stage, Real Madrid are the biggest club in the world and it is a huge task to defeat them. However we are ready to show that we are equal if not bigger than Madrid.

I believe it could go either way, Manchester United are a great team and will challenge us right to the final game. All we can do is just keep going strong and hopefully we'll be there come May.

We have identified certain targets however we are a long way from the window opening and I would prefer to remain fully focused on the climax of this campagin.

Thank you.
