kevt81
In 08, can players buy out their contracts in the final year or could this be something implemented in 09.
WBA4LIFE
Ive never seen it so I don't think its in 08.
trekman
Its not in FM2008 as far as I can see. The new features of FM2009 haven't been anounced yet so no point in guessing whats going to be included\excluded but if its a fairly regular occurance then you'd think that its there or at least being considered for inclusion in a patch. dafuge
I seem to remember someone from SI saying that it would not be included in the game until it was clear how exactly it would work in real life, otherwise we could end up with a situation like the 'unprotected contracts' from a few years ago. Golaxi
no player ever buys out there contracts. no need for it to be added
Ike013
I don't agree, in Belgium there is a law that suits this very well and it has happened on occassions that a player who wasn't permitted to change teams, just bought out his contract and swapped teams. Foxo
no player ever buys out there contracts. no need for it to be added That's not true, Andy Webster of Rangers did it a couple of years ago to join Wigan as Rangers didn't want to let him leave
pcmeister
no player ever buys out there contracts. no need for it to be added Little Foxo, I think he means that it is so rare that there would be no need for it but yes there have been a few who have done this. 1Unit1
Ok I'm a thinking you need to listen to this now. In Fm o5 you could buy out a contract for a middle aged player 2 years after they had signed it. This sum is decided by the amount of wages the club are due to pay the player for the rest of his contract. It voz in that game, so ho should be in this 'ere next one. trekman
That's not true, Andy Webster of Rangers did it a couple of years ago to join Wigan as Rangers didn't want to let him leave Actually he bought out his Hearts contract to join Wigan then went on loan to Rangers who he has subsequently joined full time. SI Staff Pete Dewhirst Posted September 1, 2008 SI Staff Share Posted September 1, 2008 no player ever buys out there contracts. no need for it to be added I'm sure Jonas Gutierrez did something of the sort in order to complete his move to Newcastle. aaron1606
Isn't that what Jonas Gutirrez of Newcastle did to leave Mallorca? £8m buy out
Alurny
Yep, Gutierrez was a "webster ruling".
Norville Rodgers
As said though, while it does happen irl, so rare is it that i doubt it will be implemented into FM anytime soon. And absolutely not in time for FM09.
