three quick questions...

Recommended Posts

simple questions- require simple answers please.

1. under my profile i have expert knowledge in countrys i have never managed in, scouted, bought a player from....played even. why?

2. i'm trying to make friends with another manager through manager interaction. at the moment he thinks "the two of you (us) could be friends", its been at this for ages now no matter how much i praise him. what is the next stage, like what does it say next and futhermore how do i get to that stage.

finally 3) under board requests you have the option 'extra time to rebuild squad'. in my whole FM career i have never used, or felt the need to use this option. what does it mean and when would you be expected to use it?

thanks everyone.

1. Do you have Scottish as a first/second nationality? This may be why.

2. Eventually you will be listed as favoured personnel, it has happened to me a few times.

3. If your team is underperforming, this is a way of asking the board for more time to turn things around.

1. You might have a member of staff with knowledge of that country, or it might just be random. Perhaps it's your in-game holiday destination ...

2. The next stage is "Feels he shares a good relationship with you" ...

3. This is asking the board to give you more time to turn it around, when times are tough!

1. I often get knowledge added for strange reasons. I once got knowledge of Israel after another manager added me as favoured personnel. He had 2 nationalities - Israel and Mexico. I had never come across him before in the database but the minute I became manager of Mexico he listed me as favoured personnel and I got knowledge of Israel.

2. You will eventually be listed as favoured personnel.

3. Use it when your job is insecure. The board may give you more time to get things right.

What club are you? If your club is not very rich or has a low reputation, the board only allow you to scout certain countries as far as I know.

Btw, by "rich", I mean Premiership standard :)

I don't think you can scout individual countries bar the ones you have loaded with playable leagues.

You might be able to select other countries like maybe the big rep ones. I think the only way you could scout Israel by scouting the region.

The default countries available for scouting/managing are major European countries and some other big reputation countries across the world. You will be able to scout only those countries that are available in the list. For others you will have to either load the leagues of those countries (even in view mode will do) or you will have to scout the whole region

it depends on the staff you have and players and where there from.plus i think everyone should know what the more time bit means.

if you want to scout israel, you either have to have the Isreali league selected, chose to load all players from Israel, or simply scout the Middle East.

However I generally find that my scouts can't find anyone in smaller countries. This really annoys me as I often send scouts to Africa and the Middle East and they always come back with no findings, yet I go look at the clubs and regularly sign 3 or 4 18yr olds that i ship off to my feeder club in Poland. I often buy young players for around $200,000, get them a wp in Poland, and sell them for over $3M!

Great little money spinner that one!

1) You gain knowledge from other players, managers or coaches. this is usually by becoming friends with them (Getting on their favourite personal list). This can be manipulated to fill in holes in your knowledge, so if you need to learn about a country quickly, try and find some one from that country to make into your buddy.

You can also pick up some knowledge of a nation from feeder clubs and your scouts. Obviously working in a country or having it listed as a second nation also does the trick.

I try and keep my knowledge specialised on the active leagues with the most players, yes I may miss the ccasional super star from Ghana, but I more than make up for that with stars from Spain, Italy, Germany ect.

2) It takes bloody ages, I have found that the relationship is also effected by your transfer dealings with the club, it is not good enough to let say you are buddies. You occasional have to show it. So if your pal comes in with a bid for a player that is less than you would normally accept, I am always tempted to say yes.

3) Never used it.

Israel is in Southern Europe area, not middle east.

I have noticed that only about 20 countries are listed, but you can scout regions - so if i want to scout Chile i just send my scout to South America. That is the only other way to do it.

Actually, the long, long winded way is to do a player search and select one of your search criterias as the players nationality. Unfortunately, you then have to go in and view each player manually - but if you find one you like the look off you can scout him using one of your scouts. Not ideal but another option

This has baffled me before. Previously I have been able to send my scout to just the Czech Republic or Croatia, rather than scouting the whole of Eastern Europe. Now I can only send him to Croatia. I'd love to know why.
