Why do young goalkeepers always perform terrible no matter what the stats are?

As the subject says.

They don't not all of the time.

What goalkeepers are the offenders?

Lloris is young and hes brilliant :confused:

neuer is 21 at the start of the game, and he's still a great prem keeper, and one of the most consistent ive ever signed...

Whenever Im at low clubs, and I loan players from premiership reserve teams with far superior stats to my decaying rubbish goalkeepers in my squad, they concede a huge amount.

mental attributes would pay some part since most likely the players who you loan would hav terrible mental stats as they are probly 17-20 y/o

There are plenty of young GK's that perform well. Lloris being the best example.

Never had this problem.

ive only had it with youngsters like martin of liverpool but who never becomes good but with Lloris , ochoa and hart all preform well for me

maybe its because goalies generally peak at around 30 in the game. but i suppose if the stats are good then so should the performences be unless there is an underlying factor.

I've had a young GK I'm trying to train up, and I gave him a few matches. In only one of them did he perform poorly, all the rest were solid performances

I have just had to call up Olazabal (the Barca one) to my Villa first team because of injuries and he's got three 8's so far

I got Delle who was at my team since the start of the game then left for a bit under a mil at age 21 then I got him back after a season away on free transfer.

Hes 22 now and plays insanely good but I know if he never got the first team action at the other clubs he would have just rotted in my reserves.

I also like giving a game or two to young keepers when I go against weaker teams and notice they just dont seem confident, like the strikers can round them easy or just move to the side and slide it past them.

So basically aim to get a keeper over 20-22 and see if he has been on loan before.

I've got a supposedly brilliant young newgen keeper. He's called Ian Smart, he's 20 and his stats are great. However he repeatedly lets in shots from 25 yards. I'm trying to work out why. I thought perhaps Agility and Jumping are controls on that, but he has 14 and 13 respectively which aren't bad. Any ideas for other control attributes?
