How to make the text easier to read for teams with similar colours like Man City

I find it hard to read the match play commentary bar on FM as the blue mixes with the white, will it be change on FM09 to a darker blue. Thanks

i have also found it hard to read some teams comentary during matchday maybe there should be an optio the preferances menu to turn all matchday text black or something

I may be wrong but I think you could actually change that yourself in the editor. You certainly could in older versions.

yes you can change it in the editor but i would prefer if it was avaliable without resorting to such measures.

Yeah maybe they should add some sort of stroke to the commentary text to avoid such problems.

Aye if there was a darker shadow behind the white letters it wouldn't be so difficult to make out what it says, althought once you have played the game enough you know what is gonna be said when anyway lol

No maybe not but why should we have a different shade of blue? we dont play in dark blue. or darker blue.

With a 2D match engine it doesn't really matter does it ? (You are always free to change those colours in your editor anyways...)

I don't think anyone was considering changing man city's strip, just their colour in the commentary bar so people can actually read it.

why not just put a black line/bold the text, surely that would be better and save losing team colours

Yeah just an option like "Text Commentary Border" that you can turn on/off if you wish

I'm not sure changing the colours is the best thing here. I believe that the correct team colours in the game is a very important part of making the experience more authentic. I'm sure there are other things we can do to improve this than changing the team colours.

Well actually if you look at the majority of out shirts they Are Sky blue base colour and just about every shirt that has been made has white sponsors on it.

It is WRONG as they are not City's colours niether would changing the colour of any other team be correct thing to do.

It would bring around complaints from most people that support those clubs. There colours are there colours and they shouldn't changed there are plenty of other ways that you could make the text stand out without changing the colours of the team.

Ter, I notice you've already got something like an outline for the numbers - was playing against Man City just the other day, and thinking much the same thing .. but the dots-on-pitch had little black outlines to the number.

Perhaps the same would work for the text?

Alternately, perhaps a subtle dark shadow, the way that the team name is done at the top?

Either of those would help the commentary a lot, for kits which have this problem.

The worst are those teams with the yellow text on the white background. That's painful for my old eyes to read.

Since when were light blue, and white similar?

Surely the best solution is just to give the text some sort of border or shadow, if needed?
