zimmerquinn Posted August 22, 2008 Share Posted August 22, 2008 In Sweden, and probably in other countries as well, all the managers of the premier division teams meet during the pre-season with media present and make their predictions for the coming season. They all answer the same questions, such as: Who will win the league? What position will your team finish in? Who will be the top scorer in the league? Who will be your team's top scorer? Who will have the breakthrough of the year? Who in your team will have their breakthrough this year? What will be the surprise of the year? Who is the league's best GK, D, M, A? Media and fans love this kind of stuff and it gives a great view of the club's and manager's expectations for the coming season. This, or something similar to it, could be an idea for involving the media and fans more in FM, or what do you think? There could also be frequent check-ups during the season. I would love to see media and fans asking questions such as: You predicted your team being top 5 and you are currently in 14th place. How do you explain that? You predicted Wayne Rooney to score 25+ goals this year, he has currently scored 3. Why is that? You ranked Petr Cech as the top goalkeeper, does this mean that you look to replace van der Saar? This was just of the top of my head, feel free to fill in, change and continue these ideas, it would be fun to see what can be made out of it. Is this ideas that people would like, or is it garbage? You often here managers comment on certain issues in football outside of their club. Like you said, who will win the league if you're managing in England, how did you think England fared in their recent international. Stormz30000 Posted August 22, 2008 Share Posted August 22, 2008 Good idea, but if it's happening too often it will be annoying, it's too late for FM 09 and if it was included, there is a 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% chance SI would make it repetitive rubbish.
