Breaking News - Uefa Make Mallorca and Ibiza Split From Spain!

Due to the huge amount of talent that has been coming through the ranks at the national academies in the two Islands off the East coast of Spain, Uefa have decided that Ibiza and Mallorca should be considered as independant footballing nations. They have, however, allowed them to start again as a club in the lowest possible league in Spain, too completely rebuild. This means that not only will Ibiza and Mallorca be battling against great nations such as Brazil, Italy, Spain and Argentina but they could also, one day, be playing in the Bernabeu and Camp Nou against the very best teams Spain has to offer or even in some of the greatest stadiums in Europe, representing Spain in one of the great club competitions.

You have been given the chance to be the ones who come through the academies on the two islands and bring either Ibiza or Mallorca to glory on either the international or national stage.

Myself and Robert will be managing these teams but with a twist. I shall be managing the club Ibiza and the country of Mallorca and Robert shall be managing the club Mallorca and the country of Ibiza.

Here is my view on our first match, a friendly against each other. Screenshots ot come with Ridleys' view.

Ibiza in Fluky Friendly Win

Ibiza scraped a 3-2 home win against Mallorca today in a game which could have and probably should have gonew the other way. You must be thinking from that scoreline that Mallorcas defence is not up to scratch bu you could hardly be any more wrong. The Ibiza players, probably instructed to do this by their manager James Ridley, spent their whole time rolling around on the floor trying ot con the referee and suceeded in gainnig lots of free kicks where they put 3 of them away, with Loic Philippens scoring one and Pablo Gonzales scoring two, they also got a penalty which I have to admit was a fair one but Ricardo Lipscombe missed it. The Mallorcan team, however, put away a proper goal and a penalty and were very unlucky not to win with Rickster scoring the penalty and Haowan scoring the other.

Mallorca fans go home crying, as 3 free kicks fly in past their keeper.

The first game between the newly formed rivals, turned out to be quite a firey one! With 2 penalties in the game, you can definately sence the rivalry between the 2 teams already. The gam went very well for us Ibizans, with us having many more shots in total. Possesion was shared 50% each though, which made the game very close.

We started very positiely, and pressed early on. After 10 minutes we got a free kick, just outside the penalty box. Gwilym J. James stepped up to take the free kick as well as Loic Philippens. Gwilym J. James passed the ball along the ground to Loic Philippens hit the ball high and hard towards goal and after a slight deflection off Mallorca's defender Feltinho, the ball ended up in the back of the net!

Both teams started to attack more now, with neither team wanting to concede a goal, there was chances either side of the pitch, with Robert Boyle hitting the post from a free kick and blasting wide from close range. The score was 1 - 0 to Ibiza as they went in for half-time.

Both teams came out after half-time with completely different teams, both teams making 10 changes within the first few minutes of the 2nd half. Mallorca got the 2nd half underway and had the first chance of the 2nd half, from a corner. It was another free kick though that got Ibiza their first chance of the half. Pablo Gonzalez took it this time and fired the free kick into the back of the net.

The game was heating up and 9 minutes later, Mallorca got a penalty as Haowan 'got fouled' in the box, which was quite clearly a dive from where I was sitting. They scored and were back in the game. The game was at it's hottest now as it approached the final minutes of the game. Chances were flying all over the place (well, our chances were flying towards the goal), it was now the 86th minute and we had got another free kick on the edge of the box. Pablo Gonzalez stepped up once again to take the free kick and it went straight in past the Mallorca keeper, who didn't even dive. We had pretty much won the game now and despite us giving them a chance and letting them getting a goal back in the final minute, we had won, possibly the easiest game of my Ibiza career so far. ;)

Ibiza 3 - 2 Mallorca

Euro 2008 Qualifier

Mallorca Captain, Boyle is outraged as they Crash to an Unexpected Defeat.

Mallorca captain was completely outraged earlier this evening as he captained his side to an abysmal 5 - 1 defeat in the hand of Cyprus. Boyle told a national paper that he was embarrased and he felt the whole country had been humiliated in their first international game. Despite him being captain, he managed to lay the blame on someone else, the manager of his club, Robert Boyle, who, according to Boyle had not done enough to keep them at the top of their fitness. Reporters have been speculating and some say that Boyle may never be captain again.

The game in fact was fairly even, with Mallorca even having more possesion. In the end though it came down to which team could take their chances, and that team was not Mallorca. There one and only goal came from their Left Winger, Feltinho as he struck the ball past the Cyprus keeper in the 54th minute. The game was over way before then though and Mallorca could not do anything to stop Cyprus from scoring.

Mallorca 1 - 5 Cyprus

3-0 win for Estonia

In Robert Boyles first game in charge of the new look Ibiza national team they lost 3-0 with all of the goals being second half goals. Artjom Toom scored the first after 70 minutes breaking in from the left hand side of the pitch and then Kaarel Stepanov scored twice in the last two minutes making it 3-0.

After the match Ibiza goalkeeper Brucie Bonus admitted that Ibiza were completely outplayed and that even though they scored two late goals it could have easily been more but he was sure that results would improve and the new manager Robert Boyle was just getting used to his new position.

Mallorca Beat Espanyol B in Lucky 2-0 Win

In Robert Boyle's first test as manager of Mallorca he came out on the winning side despite being dominated for mosto f the game. It was 0-0 at half time with Espanyol B possibly the better side and then The Man scored after cutting in from the right wing to put Mallorca 1-0 up. It was not over then and despite Espanyol still looking hte more likely to win the match Haowan scored our second goal of the game and it finished that way.

Mallorca Lose To Rivals After Having Disallowed Goal

Mallorca faced Ibiza for the second time in the space of a few weeks again away at Ibiza. It was an even game going into the second half with both sides missing several chances when Mallorca got a corner and the two centre backs came up for it. When the corner was taken Rickster ran up and powered a header into the back of the net only to find that the referee had given a free kick. After that we went out ot try to get the win and they scored two goals with Bobino and Loic Philippens scoring. I tihnk the referee may well be walking away with a few extra quid in his pocket after this match if you ask me!

Also, lotso f their goals would have been offside. One more think, how did they only score 18?!?!?!?!!?

League Game 1

Ibiza go down to hard-working Alcoyano

Really poor result, and a game that we really should have won. I can not believe we lost this game, they had 1 shot in the whole game and managed to score it, whereas we had 12 shots and failed to score from any of them. We dominated the whole of the game (despite the amount possesion not showing this).

We came close to scoring on numerous occasions, with Adicel and Barker both coming close to scoring. Dissapointing result.

League Game 2

Quality Finishing Provides Fantastic Victory

Absolutely fantastic result against the rivals, Mallorca. We played very well and they never looked like they would cause us any problems. The first half finished goalless, with us slightly having the upper hand. There were chances for both teams, however I think that we were the team that looked like we would convert one of our chances.

Things really started to kick off in the second half though. There were more chances for both teams, they even got 1 of their shots on target (there only shot on target in the whole game actually). We then started to press and were attacking a lot more often. I felt it was time for a change so I got Philippens ready to come on for Bobinho. Then Bobinho suddenly springed into life as he scored a wonderfully finished goal. We were coasting now and were playing very well. Bobinho came off the minute after and Philippens came on. It was then him who got a chance, 6 minutes later, as a through ball was played through the middle. He shot from 20 yards out and scored a lovely goal.

edit: actually just remembered how many players signed up, was thinking there was only 11+7 xD

Yeah, we have to rotate the teams a lot, so whoever captains one game, is not guaranteed to captain the next, or even play the next game.

Ibiza Surprise Croatia

Before the game nobody had given the small Island off the East coast of Spain a chance in a game against group leaders Croatia but 8 minutes into the game White ran with the ball into the penalty area and Marko Babic brought him down and earned a yellow from the referee to add insult to injury. The Croats crowded the referee protesting that it was not a penalty but Massimo Busacca was having none of it. Atli Ásgeirsson stepped up confidently against Stip Pletikosa and cooly sent him the wrong way to put the side who were not given a chance before the match ahead. The goal scorer was then injured after 34 minutes and for the rest of the half there was lots of chances for both teams and Ibiza defintely not being dominated. The second half produced as many chances as the first but with a mixture of good goalkeeping and poor finishing Ibiza kept their 1-0 lead. Near the end of the match Ibiza went more defensive bringing one of their strikers back into the midfield and they managed ot hold out for a magnificent victory.

League Game 3

Ibiza ease past Castelldefels

Ibiza edged out their opponents today, in a 2 – 1 victory at Can Misses. Ibiza were not at their best, but still managed to win the game, which shows the determination between the bunch of players. Manager James Ridley told CSE News that he was pleased with the win; however his team did not keep the football as long as they could have, and they often gave away possession carelessly.

Pablo Gonzalez opened the scoring after 19 minutes as a through ball from Arthur White was smashed first time by Pablo, as it went flying into the net, clipping the post on the way through. Ibiza were enjoying the early possession, however once Castelldefels started pressing, Ibiza’s inexperience started to show. They did not know how to react with all the pressure that was heading their way, wave after wave of attack was coming towards them. Unbelievably, though, it was Ibiza who got the next goal as Harry Barker, hit a sweet free kick straight past the Castelldefels keeper, who didn’t even bother too move.

Castelldefels continued to press though. 82 minutes had passed and they were attacking once again. The ball came to Aritz Mugika, who skipped past a few challenges before placing it past Ibizan keeper Browser. The game had reached the final minutes and it was in to stoppage time. Castelldefels were on what was their last attack, Mugika made a run through the middle and got the ball, he smashed the ball in the net, Ibizan fan went crazy, they clearly felt the goal was offside, and so did the linesman. He held his flag up in the air and the goal was disallowed.

Ibiza Lose Out

Ibiza approached today’s game anticipating a stroll in the park and what should have been an easy game, however their opponents, Llieda were stronger than Ibiza thought. The game was very equal, but the defensive performance from Llieda was spectacular.
They limited Ibiza’s chances to just 2 in the first half and were having plenty of chances of their own.

It was them who scored the first and only goal of the game as well, as Dominguez chipped the Ibizan keeper Brucie Bonus, 12 minutes in to the second half.
Despite conceding a goal Brucie Bonus came out of the game with the man of the match award, he did very well at limiting the opponent’s goals to just one and he should be very pleased with his level of performance today.

League Game 5

Ibiza Smash Villarreal”B” in to Pieces

After Ibiza had lost their last game, they did not come in to this one full of confidence. They definitely left the game full of confidence though. This game had everything a football fan would need: goals, a penalty and a sending off. Ibiza were outstanding in this game and it wasn’t really surprising that it was them who got all 5 of the goals in this game.

Arthur White opened the scoring after just 11 minutes, when he struck an absolutely fantastic half-volley from 25 yards out after the ball was cleared from the corner. He was also involved in the second goal as he was tugged down in the Villarreal”B” penalty box. The penalty was awarded and Pablo Gonzalez stepped up confidently to take it. He ran up to the ball slowly, almost walking up to it while staring at the keeper. He smacked the ball in to the top right corner, sending the keeper the wrong way at doing so. Great Penalty.

Ibiza went in at half time feeling great. They had a 2 goal lead and looked very comfortable. The second half started and Ibiza once again decided to attack. They were playing fantastic football and creating plenty of chances for themselves. 7 minutes in to the half Villarreal”B”s Jona was sent off, for a two footed foul on Bobinho, who had been brought on at half time. This sending off definitely didn’t help Villarreal”B” as they were already 2 – 0 down. Johnny Five was the scorer of the third goal as he showed his free kick taking class, by scoring a wonderfully crafted free kick from 35 yards out!

Despite having a 3 goal lead, Ibiza did not sit back and defend, they kept coming at Villarreal”B” in hope of scoring more goals. Ben Talbott scored the 4th goal for his team, as he volleyed the ball home from Batman’s corner. Yet again Ibiza pressed as they looked for the 5th goal. They were still having plenty of chances but were missing the target. Pablo Gonzalez managed to convert his chance though, after a through pass by Harry Barker was collected by Pablo Gonzalez who went on to score Ibiza’s 5th and final goal of the game. Excellent stuff.

Ibiza 5 – 0 Villarreal”B”

League Game 6

Ibiza struggle to a goalless draw

There isn’t much to say about this game. It was fairly even, with a few chances from both teams. The defensive performance from both sides was excellent though, as many key challenges were made by both sides. Most people expected Ibiza to win the game, but the result did not quite go their way.

Bobinho came closest to scoring for Ibiza as he broke free of the Gramenet before hitting the ball over the bar from close range, with the keeper well beaten as well. The game was a boring one in the end and ended in a goalless draw, which was probably a fair result, seeing as no team played to their full ability.

Mallorca Romp To Expected Win
Sunday 16th September 2007

Mallorca were easily the favourites against Denia despite the fact that they were away from home. Mallorca went straight at Denia right from the start and they only had to wait 3 minutes beofre the new strike partnership for that game combined when Mark Cator slid Haowan through to put Mallorca 1-0 up. Mallorca did not have to wait long for a second goal either as in the 14th minute Fernando Fatskinho crossed the ball in from the left flank and after the ball bounced round the box a bit it somehow came to Steven Buchan on the edge of the area who smashed it in. Feltinho completed the scoring in the first half with a brilliant goal to make the score 3-0 going into the break. Mallorca still dominated the second half but no chances went in and it looked as though it was heading for a 3-0 win when Feltinho popped up again to score the 4th ogal of the game to make the game finish 4-0.

Mallorca Shocked As They Lose To Gramenet
Wednesday 19th September 2007

Mallorca, as in most matches, were favourites ot win this game and got off to a perfect start when in the firt minute, without Gramenet touching the ball Jason Demiro scored a great goal. They kept the lead ntil the 28th mniute when Chando scored to level it up. It looked as though it was going ot be 1-1 going into half time but Robert Boyle rose above everyone else to head a goal in from the back post to take the lead once more. The lead was short lived however in the scond half where Chando scored his second goal of the match in the first minute of the second half. The Man then took the lead in the 61st minute with a beautiful goal but Gramenet fought back at once with Chando scoring his 3rd goal meaning that he would be bringing home the match ball. It was 3-3 going into the last 10 minutes but then Chando scored his fourth ot take a point away from Mallorca and win the game for his team Gramenet.

League Game 7

Alicante hold out for a draw

Ibiza came extremely close to suffering an unexpected defeat against Alicante early today at the Jose Rico Perez stadium in Alicante. In a match tht Ibiza had expected to dominate, they were at times overrun by a feisty Alicante side and they can count themselves lucky to have escaped with a 2 - 2 draw.

Ibiza and Alicante shared equally the first half possession, with Ibiza possibly looking the better side as they went in for half time. Both teams came out after half time looking refreshed and ready for another intense 45 minutes of football. Ibiza were first too score after the break as Arthur White put in a cross which was sliced in to his own net by Alicante defender Alan.

Alicant scored next, 3 minutes after Ibiza scored. The Ibiza defence look very nervous hen attempting to head the ball and concede most of their goals from crosses put in to the box. Fernando Bejar crossed the ball in from deep and it was met by the head of Bolo who scored, making it 1 - 1. 8 more minutes passed and Ibiza were looking to take the lead again, Arthur White picked Bobinho out with a lovely through pass, and Bobinho chipped it beautifully over Ricardo Molina in the Alicante goal.

Alicante now attacked more and more. They were having tonnes of possession and a lot of chances. Brucie Bonus was playing extremely well and kept his side in the game a few times. He could do nothing about the second goal for Alicante though, from a freekick which was a wonderfully struck goal, scored by Malo. Alicante continued to attack but Brucie Bonus saved Ibiza from conceding a 3rd goal.

Ibiza 2 - 2 Alicante

League Game 8

Ibiza ease to victory

Ibiza enjoyed nearly total domination in their game against a distinctly average Sabadell side at Can Misses this evening. Ibiza ran out easy winners in the end and in reality the margin could and should have been far greater than just 2 goals.

Gwilym J. James scored the first goal straight after the restart, in the 47th minute. His technique was spectacular as he set himself up for a half volley which he struck perfectly in to the top left corner of the goal. Ibiza were having all the chances and it was only a matter of time before they got their second goal of the game.

The second goal came 12 minutes after the first. Gwilym J. James was fouled on the corner of the penalty box. Johnny Five whipped the free kick in and it was Rick Adicel who got his head to the ball first. The power of the header took the ball past the keeper and in to the bottom of the net. Solid performance by Ibiza in the end.

Ibiza 2 - 0 Sabadell

Mallorca Draw Against 10 man Llieda
Sunday 30th September 2007

The game got off to the perfect start fro Mallorca as Haowan was taken down by Alberto and Robert Boyle continues his hot streak in front of goal by slotting the penalty home. Things then went from bad ot worse for Llieda when Jesús Galván got sent off two minutes after they went 1-0 down. Even though they were down ot 10 men they still managed to score a goal to equalise but 15 minutes later Jason Demiro scored a screamer from 30 yards out to put Mallorca 2-1 up going into half time. Mallorca looke easily in control in the second half util Robin Desseme scored n the 75th minute to equalise again and Malloca could not, no matter how had they tried, find another goal that would win it for them.

Mallorca Destroy Villareal B by 4 Goals
Sunday 7th October 2007

This game was predicted as an easy win for Mallorca and they didn't dissapoint. Nino got sent off for Villareal B in the first 20 minutes and it went downhill for them from there. First Mark Cator scored a magnificient goal where he got the ball on the edge of the area spun and smached it into the goal. Jason Demiro continued his great run of form and scored another goal from outside the area to put Mallorca 2-0 up and they surely thought there was no way back for Villareal B now. The second half started quietly and in the 59th minute Villareal B pulled one back but their hopes were ot be short lived as Robert Boyle scored less than 10 minutes later to make it 3-0 with a brillaint header. Mallorca didn't stop there as Jason Demiro scored a header from The mans corner and Robert Boyle scored another header to make it 5-1.

Mallorca unlucky to lose

Mallorca failed to cause an upset this evening at the Tehelne Pole stadium as Slovakia coasted to an expected 2 - 0 victory. Mallorca had few good chances to score but it just was not to be as the defence for Slovaki played very well indeed. Slovakia had by far the most possession and deservedly won the game.

Their first goal came after just 15 minutes, when Oscar Nadal made a bad mistake as his pass back to the keeper was cut out by Mintal, who went on to score. The second goal came much later on in the game. Mintal was involved again as his fantastic pass picked out Jakubko who went round the Mallorcan keeper, Guerrero, to almost pass the ball in to the net.

Mallorca 0 - 2 Slovakia

Ibiza Win Again Against Saudi Arabia

Maybe not against as well known or as good opposition as Croatia but Ibiza still managed ot win another international game, a feat their club manager could ont possibly ever achieve. 13 minutes in Batman came down the left wing and put in a beuatiful cross but everyone missed it so it came to Arthur White who slid it in to the corner to make it 1-0 to Ibiza. For the rest of the game, although Saudi Arabia were making lots of chances they could not conver them into goals and Johnny Five made sure of the victory with a goal in the 84th minute to make it finish 2-0 to Ibiza who have definitely picked up their form since the new manager has started.

Macedonia Edge Past Ibiza
Wednesday 17th October 2007

The Ibiza, Robert Boyle, manager went into the game against Macedonia with an unchanged team from the team that beat Saudi Arabia 2-0. It was all going so well as Loic Philippens kept up his international form scoring another goal for Ibiza making it 1-0 and Ibiza took that lead into the half time break. The lead was short lived in the scond half however, as Goran Pandev scored less than 10 minutes in to the second half to equalise and then scored again four minutes later to put Macedonia into the lead in the Euro 2008 quallifying match and unfortunately the score stayed the same until the end of the match.

Euro 2008 Qualifier

Mallorca pick up their first points of the tournament after a famous victory!

Members and supporters of Mallorca were ecstatic after their countries remarkable 2 - 0 victory over Wales today. Although the scoreline suggests that Mallorca dominated the game it was actually deceptively even, with Wales actually having more chances in the game.

Mallorca came out and attacked early on, winning a few corners and putting pressure on the Welsh defenders. The first goal came after 29 minutes, after Feltinho was brought down just outside the box. Feltinho took the freekick and Curry Man jumped brilliantly to head the ball home. Wales were gutted and instantly put the pressure back on the Mallorcans. The Mallorca defence was playing well though and Wales were unable to get their equaliser.

9 minutes from the end Mallorca had won another corner, which Fuzzy Lightning took. He floated the ball across the box and Ricardo Gonzalez met the ball with his head, he directed it towards the goal and after takes a deflection off Daniel Gabbidon it went in to the back of the net. 2 - 0 to Mallorca! Fans and players were ecstatic after the game, especially Robert Boyle who spoke to the media about his hapiness of the great win.

Mallorca 2 - 0 Wales

League Game 9

Ibiza hammer Levante B

Ibiza enjoyed nearly total domination against a very poor Levante B side, who are bottom of the league. Ibiza won the game easily and pretty much had the 3 points sealed by half time. Ibiza had many chances and in reality they could and should have won by a much greater margin than they did.

Rick Adicel scored the first goal after just 5 minutes, when Bobinho found a gap through the Levante B defence with his through pass, which Rick Adicel hit first time, straight through the hands of Levante B keeper and captain, Manolo Reina. The second goal came just 4 minutes later after Bobinho struck a sweet half volley, from just inside the box after making some space for himself. Ibiza were cruising.

Ibiza then sat back on their lead and just passed the ball around Levante B, frustrating them and winding them up. Ibiza went in at half time looking very comfortable and they weren't going to let this lead slip. Manager James Ridley made 2 subs, just to give them a run out and the game continued. Just 7 minutes in to the second half Ibiza got their 3rd goal, as Batman, one of the subs that came on at half time, scored a wonderful free kick, which took a deflection off the wall on the way through.

Ibiza 3 – 0 Levante B
Scorers: Adicel, Bobinho, Batman
Man of the Match: Adicel

Ibiza fail to make chances pay

Ibiza should count themselves highly unlucky to only draw against Orihuela today at Can Misses. Despite controlling the whole game against a less than impressive Orihuela side, Ibiza's players failed to convert their massive superiority into a win.

Orihuela took the lead after 32 minutes, when Ricardo Liscombe put the ball past his own keeper as he couldn't move out of the way of a shot that rebounded off the post before bouncing off Ricardo and rolling over the line. Ibiza hit back immediately though as Harry Barker forced his way past 2 players in to the penalty box, before passing it to Rick Adicel who just had to pass the ball in to the wide open goal.

Orihuela had scored from their 1 and only shot of the game up until now and after 58 minutes they scoed from their second effort of the game, as Benja scored a header from outside the box unbelievably! Ibiza were getting plenty of efforts but weren't able to take them, but finally in the 82nd minute Ben Talbott got free in the penalty area and after receiving a wonderful pass from Rick Adicel he tucked the ball under the Orihuela keeper and scored to make it all level.

Ibiza 2 – 2 Orihuela

Clinical finishing is the difference at Can Misses

Ibiza overcame a resilient Hospitalet side in the Spanish Second Division B3 game at Can Misses this afternoon. The match itself was very even, but Ibiza had the cutting edge in front of goal that proved critical for them at the end of the day.

Loic Philippens had a very good game for Ibiza today as his 2 goals helped them get another 3 points as they push for a playoff place. Loic scored an early goal after just 2 minutes, when Arthur White played a nice pass to him which he just placed in to the bottom right hand side of the goal. His second goal came in the 4th minute of stoppage time as Loic met Gwilym J. James' cross with his head and he headed in his second goal of the game.

Brenden Petersen and Brucie Bonus also had good games in defence and in goal as they helped Ibiza to another clean sheet, as they maintain their position as the 2nd best defence in the league, keeping 6 clean sheets and conceding just 8 goals in their 12 games so far.

Mallorca Beat Alicante In Unconvincing Display
Sunday 21st October 2007

Alicante completely outplayed Mallorca in this game and Mallorca were lucky to go into halftime drawing 0-0. 5 minutes into the second half Mallorca scored completely against the run of play when Fuzzy Lightening ran down the left wing and crossed a brilliant ball in for Robert Boyle to power a head in to take the lead for Mallorca. The game ended with a 1-0 win for Mallorca and you know what they say, even when you don't play well, the best teams win anyway.

Mallorca Stroll To Victory
Sunday 28th October 2007

It was now Sabadell's turn to visit Mallorca and Mallorca were heavy favourites and they didn't dissapoint. They only had to wait 13 minutes till they took the lead when Robert Boyle continued his scoring streak notching another goal to put Mallorca 1-0 up. Mallorca then lost their goalscorer Robert Boyle to injury in the 37th minute making way for Ricardo Gonzalez. So with Steven Buchan taking the captains armband Mallorca went into the break 1-0. Halfway through the second half Ricardo Gonzalez scored Mallorcas second goal of the game spinning past his marker and hitting a well placed shot past the Sabadell keeper from outside the area.

So Mallorca fans will be pleased with the win but they will be very dissapointed that star player and captain, Robert Boyle, has damaged his achilles tendon meaning he will be out for two to three months.

Sunday 4th November 2007

Mallorca got off to the perfect start in their game against Orihuela where in the eighth minute Benja tripped Haowan in the penalty area and The Man slotted it away to give Mallorca the lead. It was then rather quiet up until half time. Mallorca did not have to wait for long before they doubled their lead when Haowan turned in the rebound off Feltinho's free kick.

Ibiza lose out

Ibiza expected an easy win in their match today against Terrassa, but it was the complete opposite of that. It did not not go to plan for Ibiza at all as they were largely outplayed by their opponents in some stages of the game and they completely deserved their narrow victory over Ibiza.

Despite losing, Ibiza had a magnificent start. They were 2 - 0 up within half an hour with a goal from Johnny Five, with a wonderful freekick from 35 yards out, striking the post on the way in to the goal, and a goal from Arthur White 4 minutes later as he slotted the ball nicely past the Terrassa keeper.

6 minutes later though Terrassa struck back with their first goal of the game as their striker Julio broke through the offside trap and drove the ball in to the goal. Their second goal came in the 2nd half, in the 67th minute as their other striker Tito dribbled past 3 players before scoring.

2 minutes on, Terrassa had a chance to get another goal, but Ramirez failed to convert the penalty he had been awarded. 9 minutes later though he made up for the miss as he scored a very nice goal from a tight angle passed the Ibiza keeper, Brucie Bonus.

Saturday 10th November 2007

Mallorca went into this game strong favourites and didn't dissapoint where Mallorca comfortably won 2-0. They didn't have to wait as Mark Cator laid the ball off to Fernando Fatskinho to smash the ball in from a free kick. Mallorca took the 1-0 lead into the break in a strong position. Haowan then scored three minutes into the second half with the keeper having a punt upfield with Fatskinho knocking it on to him to slot home.

Ibiza Lose To Russia
Wednesday 21st November 2007

For some reason it didn't bring me back off holiday for this game so I missed it. We were completely outclassed in the 2-0 loss to Russia where we had 6 shots to their 24. We survived until the 35th minute until Alexandr Kerzhakov scored and we were thinking that we were fortunate to only lose 1-0 but Andrey Arshavin scored to make it 2-0. So that is the end of the qualifying groups for Euro 08 where we finished 6th in Group E coming above Estonia. So now we will have to build towards the world cup in South Africa.

Euro 2008 Qualifier

Quality of possession more important than Quantity of possession!

Mallorca today recorded their second win in a row for the first time in the nations history! Media pundits are claiming a triumph of tactics for the Mallorca manager, James Ridley, after his players defeated much stronger opponents Slovakia. Despite not enjoying as much of the ball as their opponents, Mallorca finished the game as comfortable winners!

Slovakia took the lead in the 6th minute and Mallorca fans were hoping that this would not turn in to an easy game for the Slovaks. Mallorcan players head's did not drop though and they got back in to the game in the 17th minute with a fabulously crafted strike from Mallorca striker Ricardo Gonzalez. The game was slowing down now and was getting a bit boring. Both sets of fans were getting restless and were getting unpatient. Then Jason Demiro got the ball from 25 yards out. He thought 'why not?' and smashed the ball goalwards. The keeper dived but could not stop the ball from going past him.Mallorca were leading a game for just the second time this season!

Slovakia got the action underway again and changed to a more attacking style of play. This attacking style did not help them though, as their defence were leaving massive gaps for the Mallorca players to just run in to. It was Ricardo Gonzalez who used this to his advantage, as he timed his run perfectly and netted his second goal of the game. Mallorca had the game wrapped up now.

Mallorca 3 - 1 Slovakia
Goalscorers: Gonzlez (2), Demiro
Man of the Match: Gonzalez

Yeah the next update might have to be after Robert's holiday, because my laptop is going to PC World to get fixed tomorrow and I don't know how long it will take.

Keep the interest though guys, there will be many more updates once we're all back and ready.

Continuing my classy club run as captain bar a couple games, picking up 8 ratings for fun, but they come at a price as the yellow cards continue to mount up, KUTGW.

If Robert comes on before 7:30, we might be able to get an update done.

Otherwise he'll be on holiday tomorrow.

After a bit of thinking from me and Robert, we have decided to close this sign-up.

We will be making a new one in a few months for FM09 and are hoping that the online will run smoother and the editor is improved a bit.

Sorry.
