Technical Help Required!

I've just changed computers and wish to carry some saved games over.

I've copied them onto a disk, and loaded them on to my new computer and the games seem to play fine.

Until I go to save, when it tells me that this is not possible.

I'm a bit of a technical novice, so I'd appreciate any advice from the more advanced brains out there. Cheers!

What exactly does the error message say?

Save not possible

"The game could not be saved"

As daft it sounds have you tried pressing "save as" instead of just save...

Did you try saving it under a different name?

Yes to the two questions above, I'm afraid

Go to your save-file with the Windows Explorer, right click it and see if it has a box ticked name 'Read Only'. If you untick that box, you should be able to overwrite your old file. It might also be the case that the entire folder is 'Read Only', which you can verify by rightclicking the folder itself.

Also, you might want to check whether you have enough free disk space left on that disk for a whole new save game. I had the same error displayed whenever I would try to save on a disk which had left less disk space than a 'fresh' save game.
