Suge
I've just had Newcastle pay £10m for Ibrahima Sonko. I haven't laughed so hard since Derby were in the premiership.
megafan2005
arsenal just keep on buying Mutu every game unless i manage them I mean hes an exceptional player but do you see Arsene Wenger spending £28M and not only that on a 28 year old
andre17
Well Simao Sabrosa is a great player. He is portuguese is 28, and ha splayed on big teams like Barcelona, Benfica, and currently on Atl. Madrid. But in one save that I had i bid 19 million for him but newcastle beat me. The paid around 49-52 million for him! CRAZY!
Mike7077
arsenal just keep on buying Mutu every game unless i manage them I mean hes an exceptional player but do you see Arsene Wenger spending £28M and not only that on a 28 year old He's at Liverpool on mine. There's plenty of odd transfers going on. I've seen Gareth Bale go Tottenham-Man. City-Valencia in the space of a season. Blackburn have just signed Aaron Lennon from Sevilla. Liverpool paid £67million for David Villa! But the weirdest was Real Madrid selling Mahamadou Diarra to Tottenham for a mere £6million. And this wasn't in 2020. Diarra is far from zimmerframe fodder yet. It was in 2008!
Scott1990
Real paid $78 million for Nani. I know he's a good player... but that much for NANI!?!?!?! However, Real also paid $32 million for Johnny Evans in the second season after he had been languishing in the Man U reserves for half the year so maybe they're just stupid. Management
Shaun Wright-Phillips Chelsea >> $17,750,000 >> AC Milan and liverpool got Bojan for 5.5 millie at the start of season
Richie Brill
I once signed Gary Neville on a free in 2009 for Southampton, did the job for a season, weirdest I've seen from AI manager was probably Ronaldinho going to Real Madrid from Barcelona for £15m
death
Yeah Mutu keps going to arsenal on mine. 32 Million is over the top though for him.
uusinjsh
41mil for Robbie Savage. Derby->Bayern. I was lucky to use laptop and sit on the floor at the moment I saw it, otherwise I'd have a painful fall from chair but I'd keep on laughing anyway. Ryan,,,
Arsene Wenger breaking his record by £40,999,995 to buy Arjen Robben for £41million!
Frazza Pee
Arsene Wenger breaking his record by £40,999,995 to buy Arjen Robben for £41million! Actually, Wengers record is 13 million for Wiltord iirc, which means he broke it by 28 million.
Hershie
Wasn't Reyes 17 million? Or was that only in bits if he played enough and didn't go a bit crazy?
jod123
Wasn't Reyes 17 million? Or was that only in bits if he played enough and didn't go a bit crazy? I thought he was £12m but could be wrong, though.
Hershie
I thought he was £12m but could be wrong, though. I think it may have been 10 or 12, rising to 17 if he, and in turn Arsenal, were successful.
backpackant
Prices approx as I'm going from memory, but... Carlos Vela to Valencia for £10million. Carlos Vela to Arsenal for £32million. Carlos Vela to AC Milan for £25million. Carlos Vela to Arsenal for £28million. All in the same game over a six or seven year period.
Mike7077
I believe Samir Nasri is now Wenger's real-life record signing, guys. Oh, and Juventus have just signed Fernando Torres from Liverpool. An odd transfer made even odder by the fact it occurred right in the middle of the 2010 World Cup! You'd think Torres would be a little busy! Plus, when do big transfers like that ever happen right in the middle of a major tournament?
Ryan,,,
Actually, some Italian defender, I'll give you his name when I remember it, signed from Fiorentina to Valencia for £28million. He only had one cap at the time.
Carl_272
Shaun Wright-Phillips Chelsea >> $17,750,000 >> AC Milan £9m for SWP is a good deal, I'd pay up to £15m for him.
outlaw640
Sevilla have just signed Sulley Muntari from portsmouth for £36.5 million and Man utd signed Daniel Alves from Sevilla for £34 million just before that. How strange that you would sell alves just to buy muntari. Sir Alex Ferguson at Inter (again strange) paid £53 million for Silva in the January transfer window too
Guest
AI managed clubs tend to spend stupid money on players they dont even need. in my Napoli save Milan signed Guiseppe Rossi for close to €50m. iirc he got about 40 games in two seasons there before he got transfer listed by request and i picked him up for €16.5m. rinso
there's usually some pretty daft transfers flying around especially the old "player returns to club" stuff... seen tevez leave manure on free, only for them to re-sign him for £20m a season later.... SAFCrhys_keanoFTM
The game is quite repetitive though, every game I play Liverpool have a shocking season and sack Benitez and then they hire Lippi who does just as bad and gets sacked. Finally they end up with José Aguirre and steadily improve.

Mike7077
I only ever see Mutu go to Liverpool. And then I see Liverpool disappear into relegation battlers.
wacman1389
I just saw C. Ronaldo go to Real Madrid for 58 million pounds......the most realistic thing i've seen except for Defoe to Portsmouth for 8.5 million
Jimboola
Recently had Liverpool buy Suli Muntari from my Pompey side for £18m. His 'worth' at the time was £5.5m and the chairman accepted the deal. Muntari was a good player for me, but I got most of the money and used it readily! phnompenhandy
In every game I play Arsenal sign Mutu for between 26-33.5m. Exactly same here. Just bought for £28 mill in my new save. This time L'Arse have also paid not much less for Quaresma. They're storming the EPL mind you, to be fair, leaving Chelski and Manyoo well in their wake, with me and the Scousers far behind. On a separate point: totally over-rated players - Ivanovic is always an immediate Chelski main stay, and Riise one of the world's best wing-backs
Dirkjan
playing with hoffenheim i sold EDU and CARLOS EDUARDO for 25M euro and 22,5M euro in the second season after a great first season. to atletico madrid and hannover (!!!).... that was a great transfer period , being able to buy almost anyone i want with a "low" rep club
County Kenny
I once sold my left back to Real Madrid for £80million. He was called Dave Hudson, a product of the Stockport Youth Academy and England's first choice left back, but £80m!? I didn't want to sell him, so I just kept on asking for more money until we reached that ludicrous figure.
Mike7077
Can anyone out there pleeeease offer me an explanation as to why Tottenham were able to sign Diarra from Real Madrid for £6m. Please bear the following in mind. - His contract was not about to run out. - He was a first team regular. - It was 2008. He was just approaching his peak. - In real life, Real paid £24m for him. If they're selling him in 2008, they'd surely want to recoup more than £6m of that! - He wasn't unhappy at Real Madrid.

Nomis07
Slightly biased, but Johnny Evans is a good player. Definate Premiership quality, but not worth $32m.

pelicanstuff
Playing 07, there's two players that always go for far too little, Andreas Gorlitz (who won't ever come to me, whoever I play as) and Defoe. Hasn't been anyone ridiculously overpriced on my current game, though I must say that 10m for Chamakh seems a bit steep to me.
crafty bison
There always seems to be a group of players (who aren't very good but have Continental reputation) who are repeatedly shifted around at high prices. ScouseFromTheSouth
In a long-term Spurs game I saw Villa go to Chelsea for £62milllion in 2010. Even more ridiculous as he started all 38 games in his first season, scoring just 2 goals with an average rating well below 6.50. Then he was sold for about £20million a year later to Roma, I think.
