Premiership team in 1st round of league cup?

Recommended Posts

At least you werent in the Setanta Sheild twice, on the same round

had to lose one match to make sure it didnt continue

How did that happen? I had something similar in the Setanta Cup although it was through editing. They even had to play each other.

1. Go to the screen in FM that you want to upload.

2. Press Alt + F9

3. The screenshot should be saved in My Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2008/screenshots

4. Upload the screenshot to an image hosting site e.g. photobucket

5. Post the direct link here so we can view it

Hope that helps.

This is my hypothesis:

Arsenal won the League Cup, but qualified for Champions League.

Therefore, the runners up of the League Cup would qualify for the UEFA Cup.

The runners up in your game were not a Premiership team?

However as they are in the UEFA Cup they would get a by from the 1st round of the League Cup this season (and 2nd round).

Therefore, to make up the numbers the brought one team "down" from the Premiership to make up the first round to its full number of ties.

Is this what happened?

The runners up in League cup dont go into Europe the plac eis instead added to the Premier League, this only happens with the FA cup

As carboreeta said. It must be because a team below the premier league has qualifed for Europe. Check the finals of last season League Cup and FA Cup and if a team from outside of the premier league won last season's league cup or was in the final in the FA Cup.

TS = JML, the original poster. And the "Playoff" would be the Championship Playoff for the final promotion berth, basically, making JML the 20th-placed team in the Premiership .. so therefore, the one who got pulled in early to make up the numbers in the 1st Round.

I think that scenario is spot on. JML, can you confirm?
