Lower Leagues Rule
I had this idea a while back and it has just taken me some time to build on it and also find the time to run an AI Experiment in the background while I am able to do other things at the same time, and also a new computer has helped with this. The basic idea is to create 22 players who all like each other, start them all out in different clubs. I have decided to go with the Blue Square North for this experiment and see if they end up flocking together at one club. I have added a few more ideas to it, will the teams that start with the strikers score more goals and will those with keepers and defenders end up with a better defensive record. I have made them all of the same nationality to see if this makes a difference when they eventually make their national side will they all be called up at the same time? Or will they be called up in dribs and drabs. So here is the list of players. Ronnie Schwartz ST - NZL (DEN) AFC Telford Kamil Bilinski ST - NZL (POL) Alfreton Jakub Kawa ST - NZL (POL) Barrow Tomas Krbecek ST - NZL (CZE) Blyth Martin Zeman AMC - NZL (CZE) Boston Utd Caliskan Nizamettin AMC - NZL (GER) Burscough Mateus Basso MRC - NZL (POR) Gainsborough Joey O'Brien MRC - NZL (IRL) Harrogate Wouter de Vogel MLC - NZL (NED) Hinckley Nebojsa Markonovic MLC - NZL (SRB) Hucknall Rafael Tchuca DM - NZL (BRA) Hyde Anders Jacobsen DM - NZL (DEN) Kettering Miguel Angel Torren DRC - NZL (ARG) Leigh Trevisan DRC - NZL (ARG) Nuneaton Jairo Oliveira da Silva DLC - NZL (BRA) Redditch Arjen Damen DLC - NZL (NED) Solihull Moors Marko Ristic WBL - NZL (SRB) Southport Anthony Van Loo WBL - NZL (BEL) Stalybridge Cristiano Maggio WBR - NZL (ITA) Tamworth Tim Romero WBR - NZL (BEL) Vauxhall Al-Dosari GK - NZL (QAT) Worchester Mats Hummels GK - NZL (GER) Workington I have gven them all a CA of 100 and a PA of 200, this is so they do not start out extremely overpowered for their league, but are also able to advance up the leagues, they are all on two season contracts so it will be interesting to see how quickly they move on and where they go. I have not altered their attributes I have left this up to the game to decide, and as for their reputation it is currently set at an average rep for the Blue Square North so they may take some time to be noticed. I will be running the major European leagues and also the Australian A-League so they have somewhere close to home to go. I have made New Zealand an EEC nation so they don't have to worry about european Citizenship and can play all over Europe. It will all be based on a large database and I plan to try and make Monthly updates. These are the things to follow: 1) Do the birds of a feather flock together 2) Do their national selectors call them up together 3) Do they improve their nations world ranking 4) Do the teams with certain players play better in these positions 5) What happens when they face each other? 6) How many will still be at their clubs in July 2008
Whoopy D
I will be quite interested to see how many if any end up at the same club, I've always wondered whether relationships with other players actually affect decisions on which clubs to join, hopefully we'll find out. Just one question, why New Zealand?
ebfatz2001
I'd imagine that most will get an international call up at the first available opportunity. With a CA of 100 they should all make the New Zealand squad.
jod123
New Zealand will dominate the game in a few years.
~Ian~
I'm interested in seeing how this turns out. My guess is that they will end up together, probably spread out amongst the Big 3 (and Liverpool) within a few years. And the title of this is so terrible it's good. rlipscombe
it's NZ because that's where he is from.... interesting idea.

Guest roberto922
I'm pretty sure some of them will go to their 2nd nationalities tbh, and hahaha you've got an infraction Frazza what did you say?
Lower Leagues Rule
Well on the nationality, yes I am from New Zealand. It is to also see whether a team from the bottom of the top 100 can move up the world rankings. As for going to their second nationalities this is impossible, I have hit the declared for nation buttons, but I am mainly interested in the player relationships and whether these will draw them together or not. But thanks for all the support guys, and I though the title had to be used, couldn't use something plain
Lower Leagues Rule
July 7th 2007 The Players join their clubs. Zeman Al-Dosari Hummels Maggio Van Loo Romero Ristic Trevisan Torren Tchuca Nizamettin O'Brien Kawa Jairo Bilinski Damen de Vogel Krbecek Schwartz Markonovic Jacobsen Basso Now the experiment is go. Remember the major facts to follow: 1) Do the birds of a feather flock together 2) Do their national selectors call them up together 3) Do they improve their nations world ranking 4) Do the teams with certain players play better in these positions 5) What happens when they face each other? 6) How many will still be at their clubs in July 2008 Predictions 1) Eventually I see at least 5 of them grouping together at one team 2) I think we will see about 8 of them in the U21s in the first Season 3) New Zealand will climb the World Rankings steadily, but probably still outside the top 50 4) I think the strikers teams will score more goals, the rest I am unsure of. 5) I think these games will be the most exciting 6) With them all on 3 year contracts I expect some bids, but I only expect 1 player to move in the first season. I will give another update at the beginning of August to show Friendly Results.

Lower Leagues Rule
September 1st 2007 7 More players added to their value in the month of August. Jakub kawa is now worth 120k, Martin Zeman (injured) is worth 275k, Nizamettin is worth 95k, Markonovic now worth 95k, Miguel Torren is at 8ok, Maggio worth 60k and Mats Hummels has moved up to 100k. A lot of players are now rejecting contract offers, though no other clubs have shown interest yet, though the strikers are starting to score goals and the teams with keepers are just over 1 GPG against. Lower Leagues Rule
Well I have been away for 5 days, but back now and working on more updates. I have decided to make my updates more spread out, monthly updates are too often and the changes are more along term sort of thing so I will from here on in doing an update morning of Day 1 of BSN season, the next update will be December 1st, a follow-up on March 1st and the End of Season Update after the final game played by any of the players in the experiement. Day 1 update will include new signings, who moves clubs and all the preseason action December Update will show how the teams are doing and whether any players are being watched by clubs March Update will be similar but also a round up of the January Transfer Window End of Season update will show full tables anything interesting from the season, the players progressions and also possible things to look for in the following season. Guest roberto922
Wouldn't it make more sense to just do updates on September 1st and February 1st seeing as it's all about whether the players 'flock together'?

Lower Leagues Rule
I said maybe don't push it EDIT: So Robert convinced me and we can now expect two updates per year, update 1 in Sept and update 2 in Feburary (Ignore my spelling) So looking forward to the end of the transfer window in January 2008 to see if any teams have moved on. Whoopy D
Looking forward to the next update, I'm put my reputation on the line and predict that very few if any of the players will end up at the same clubs, maybe 2 or 3 at the same club max. As for the national team, if the NZ manager has any sense they'll all be called up to his first squad
Lower Leagues Rule
Well most of them have made the national U21 match against Iran, but they have not been called up as full internationals as yet, and none have moved clubs prior to the January Transfer window
Whoopy D
Surely they should have made the full international team, even with only CA 100 it should only be the strikers that struggle to displace Smeltz and ?Killen? other than that Nelsen is the only player who would get a place in my side if I had these youngsters available
Lower Leagues Rule
That was my thought as well Whoopy, but it seems that the coach thinks thsy should get some youth experience first I await seeing who breaks into that squad first
Guest roberto922
Nah the likes of Ryan Nelson are still better than them. Most of them should have been called up though.
Lower Leagues Rule
February 1st 2008 Update Well we have reached February 1st 2008 and still none of the players have made a move to flock together, 21 players have been called up to the New Zealand U21 squad, the exception being Caliskan Nizamettin who has only made it into the U19 Squad. International Fixtures November 20th NZL U21 vs Iran U21 0-3 at Waikato Stadium, Hamilton Attendance: 5260 The Birds Stats Starters Pos Player Pass% Key Tack% Key Shots SoT Rating GK Al-Dosari 37.5 0 00.0 0 0 0 6 DL Van Loo 90.9 0 57.1 0 0 0 5 DC Torren (c) 84.2 0 75.0 2 0 0 7 DC Jairo 84.2 0 66.6 3 0 0 7 MR Basso 63.3 0 00.0 0 0 0 5 MC Markonovic 58.1 1 00.0 0 0 0 5 MC de Vogel 92.3 0 33.3 0 0 0 7 ST Bilinski 72.7 0 00.0 0 1 1 7 Reserves Pos Player Pass% Key Tack% Key Shots SoT Rating GK Hummels 25.0 0 00.0 0 0 0 7 DR Ristic 40.0 0 33.3 0 0 0 5 DL Romero 80.0 0 00.0 0 0 0 6 ML O'Brien 50.0 0 00.0 0 0 0 5 Player Values kept climbing, with only 1 international fixture so far they have concentrated on their club football and it is showing as their values increase. Player Values Martin Zeman 275k Wouter de Vogel 170k Ronnie Schwartz 130k Jakub Kawa 120k Joey O'Brien 110k Anthony Van Loo 100k Caliskan Nizamettin 100k Mats Hummels 95k Nebojsa Markonovic 95k Rafael Tchuca 80k Jairo 80k Miguel Torren 80k Kamil Bilinski 80k Tim Romero 70k Arjen Damen 65k Well the other 7 players are yet to be valued, but it is good to see that Nizamettin's place in the U19s is not affecting his value. Next question to ponder is whether any clubs are watching these players and if such at what level are these clubs and will they be making any bids soon? Well it appears none of them are even being watched, though this may have to do with me setting them up as 16 year olds as they are all signing a future contract at their current club on July 13th 2008, which is their 17th birthday. So onto the top goalscorers and top ratings then I will show the standings and see whether teams with a better striker are actually scoring more goals and whether those with a goalie are better defensively. Top Goalscorers Apps Goals Jakub Kawa 29 30 Tomas Krbecek 21 22 Ronnie Schwartz 30 17 Martin Zeman 25 12 Jairo 31 10 Highest Ratings Jakub Kawa 7.69 Tomas Krbecek 7.43 Wouter de Vogel 7.30 Martin Zeman 7.22 Kamel Bilinski 7.20 So two of the strikers have managed to stay at over a goal per game, but the fourth Bilinski is currently beaten out of the top scorers list by Zeman a midfielder and Jairo a defender. Teams with Strikers In Blue Square North Games Goals Barrow 28 60 Alfreton 28 34 Blyth 28 55 AFC Telford 28 38 Average goals is 47.5, Barrow is battling for second place and is clearly scoring more goals than most of their opponents, but Alfreton and AFC Telford are 22nd and 20th respectively and scoring a lot less than their competitors. Blyth is looking at mid table in 8th (8 points off the playoffs) Teams with Goalies Games GlsAgst Worcester 28 39 Workington 28 49 Average goals against is of course 47.5, so Worcester with Al-Dosari are doing very well allowing less than the average goals, while Mats Hummels is struggling with Workington. Workington are sitting in 19th out of relelgation on points differential, while Worcester are in the final Playoff berth. So which teams are actually Performing, and which aren't? Top 5 Points Anders Jacobsen (DM)'s Kettering 60 Cristiano Maggio (DR)'s Tamworth 53 Jakub Kawa (ST)'s Barrow 53 Wouter de Vogel (MLC)'s Hinckley 50 Al Dosari (GK)'s Worcester 48 Goals Anders Jacobsen (DM)'s Kettering 63 Tim Romero (DL)'s Vauxhall 62 Jakub Kawa (ST)'s Barrow 60 Cristiano Maggio (DR)'s Tamworth 57 Al Dosari (GK)'s Worcester 56 Zeman (AMC)'s Boston United 56 Goals Allowed Wouter de Vogel (MLC)'s Hinckley 32 Miguel Torren (DC)'s Leigh 36 Cristiano Maggio (DR)'s Tamworth 36 Al Dosari (GK)'s Worcester 39 Anders Jacobsen (DM)'s Kettering 42 Angel Trevisan (DC)'s Nuneaton 42 Jairo (DC)'s Redditch United 42 So it seems that having a good anchorman is paying off for Kettering, but the rest of the top teams are a good mix, no one position is showing up constantly at the top of the lists in any list. As for the individual stats Mr Kawa is on top with 24 goals, but is tied with the striker from Tamworth. He also leads the Average rating with 7.86. No other player from our group is ahead on any stat, but they are appearing near the top of some of the lists. The Cups Fa Trophy Third Qualifying round action saw Alfreton knocked out by Bromley, Blyth knocked out by Ketterng, Barrow progress over Buxton, Southport beat Belper, Gainsborough lost to Hayes & Yeading, Hucknall knocked out by Braintree, Workington and Worcester went down to Shepshed and Dulwich Hamlet. Solihull Moors and Hinckley went out against Cambrisge City and Harrogate. While Stalbridge, Hyde, Leigh and Tamworth took easy victories. Nuneaton went through while AFC Telford and Redditch missed out. The First Round Nuneaton vs Woking 1-2 Hyde vs Ashton Utd 2-3e Cambridge City vs Tamworth 1-2 Sutton Utd vs Barrow 0-2 Braintree vs Vauxhall 1-2 Boston Utd vs Southport 1-4 Leigh vs Chelmsford 0-1e Northwich vs Harrogate 4-3 York vs Stalybridge 3-0 Guisley vs Kettering 1-4 2nd Round Barrow vs Bath 3-2 Tamworth vs Ashton Utd 3-0 Kettering vs Forest Green 0-1 Southport vs Rushden 3-2 Vauxhall vs Halifax 0-1 And the draw for the third round Tamworth vs York Exeter vs Barrow Southport vs Stevenage So the teams have done better than their South counterparts, but still they were a lot of them knocked out early, Jakub kawa is pulling his Barrow team through, but how many will be in the quarterfinals? Whoopy D
I'm put my reputation on the line and predict that very few if any of the players will end up at the same clubs, maybe 2 or 3 at the same club max. I'm a genius I tell ya ........ for now at least. Good update Number 1 Jairo fan right here
Lower Leagues Rule
Haha liking Jairo thats a Sin, I am loving Jakub Kawa, he is just banging them in, I just realised I forgot the other Cups, namely FA Cup and Sentanta Sheild will give some sort of update on them soon, but for your info Southport just got knocked out of the FA Trophy in the 3rd Round losing to Stevenage I am interested to see what happens to the players that get relegated if they get a job else where or stagnate in their current team.
