Because it's bugging me

I assume it's the same in everyones game so I was wonder if anyone could explain why the winners of the Euro Cup always get more Coefficient points than the winners of the Champions Cup?

A few recent examples (ECC winners 1st);

2020/21 Liverpool: 36.801, Newcastle: 38.801

2019/20 Man City: 35.673, Liverpool: 38.673

2018/19 Real Madrid: 34.341, Roma: 39.435

Surely this can't be correct even if winning the EC as an ECC group stage drop out means you play an extra round of matches as you'd expect the senior competition to carry more weight.

Not sure why it bugs me as my only experience of continental football was a 1st qualifying round defeat many seasons ago but bug me it does.

Coefficients are not based on winning but on the number of matches you win or draw. I think you get 2 points for every win and 1 point for every draw with qualifiers 1 point for every win and 0.5 for every draw. You also get 33% of your own nations coefficient. There are bonuses as well I think. One of them is reaching the group stages of the Champions League where you get 4 points I think. Google it for more information.
