kkas Posted August 5, 2008 Share Posted August 5, 2008 Is it just me or are there too many goals from shot deflections especially concerning free kicks? Also is the system for who claims the goal just random because I have seen shots which are deflected at an almost 90 degree angle claimed by the person who took the shot while shots which must have grazed someone of the way through are own goals? killiekev1869 Posted August 5, 2008 Share Posted August 5, 2008 yeah, i noticed it. my midfielder scored 5 direct FKs one season - 4 of them taking HUGE deflections off the wall. not even a mention of a "lucky deflection" in the text commentary. son_of_sosidge Posted August 5, 2008 Share Posted August 5, 2008 Deflections is an interesting one to me. Deflected goals are one of the ways the game generates goals against the run of play. If you have scored with a deflection, be afraid, because the opposition are probably going to get one back. Equally, if you concede to a deflected goal or an own goal, you are probably going to score in reply. Of course this is not 100% guaranteed, you will still have those defeats caused by one deflected goal, but they are not the norm. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
