NepentheZ
A one off payment you pay to the player for.... A) Joining your club B) Renewing a contract with your club. They go entirely to the player, and IIRC DO come off of your transfer budget. So bear that in mind. (Only for new players, not for Contract renewal fee)
Boris Dollar
Actually, i never bother offering players sign-on fees, unless they are on a free transfer and are wanted by several clubs. Otherwise, i don't see the point. Usually if a player rejects a contract offer its because they want either A) Larger salary B) Larger appearance fees or C) A more significant role. I haven't had a player ever complain about wanting a larger signing on fee.
Pea Tear Griffin
They don't come off your transfer budget, because I've managed to give players a £35K signing on fee with a transfer budget of £0!

buzzing_hornet
Would be good to have rare occasions when a star player at a club with financial difficulties is sold and if the player holds the club close to his heart then he donates his signing on fee to his old club.
