Serpico
Anyone got a quick concise guide of which countries we should aim to get feeder clubs in to circumvent the English work permit laws?
Nomis07
Most people seem to go for Poland, it takes about 3 years there to be eligible for one, whether the player actually takes it or just considers it is a whole different debate
canvey!!
3 years 4 years 7 years 10 years ------- --------- -------- ------- Belgium Spain Denmark Greece Poland Holland Slovenia 5 years ----------------------------------------------------------- Austria French Guyana Italy Renuion Cyprus Germany Latvia Slovakia Czech Republic Guadeloupe Lithuania Sweden Estonia Holland Luxembourg Switzerland Finland Hungary Malta France Iceland Martinique Ireland Portugal
Midge
Belgium is also three years to get a work permit.
Serpico
Thanks very much! Where in the name of Cliff Richard is Renuion? And is Romania missing from that list? And how does this work? Do the feeder club's country not have any issues with work permits themselves? ie, do they take anyone?
canvey!!
I copied it off of the Hints and Tips Guide in T&T, posted by rashidi1. Come to think of it, Bulgaria isn't there either.
Nomis07
Canvey, does it differ from country to country? In Germany I think it's 3650 days (10 years) for a player to get citizenship if they are loaned out in Spain.
canvey!!
There are variations, but I don't know them all, I'm afraid. I know players who have Spanish as a mother tongue take only 2 years in Spain.
Serpico
So say I buy Pablo Espana from a Spanish speaking South American nation, I can send him to play for my feeder is Spain and they'll be allowed to play him? Or will he just fester and get fat through not playing?
canvey!!
If Spanish is his mother-tongue, which I'd assume it is, then he'll get the work permit to be able to play for you in the UK in 2 years. They can play him even if his mother-tongue isn't Spanish. If they want him to fester, it'll be nothing to do with his language.
phnompenhandy
So say I buy Pablo Espana from a Spanish speaking South American nation, I can send him to play for my feeder is Spain and they'll be allowed to play him? Or will he just fester and get fat through not playing? Depends on his ability. I chose Getafe as my Spanish feeder but perhaps should have gone for a poorer one. My S. American and Mexican lads are stuck in the 'B' team squad which don't have any fixtures . They'll still get EU citizenship after 3 years, but they probably won't have progressed much. I reckon the ideal feeder is one with top training facilities and a poor squad - I guess even relegation wouldn't be a problem.
rinso
i think, for spain, its two years if you come from any of the following coutries -> Argentina, Brazil, Cape Verde, Colombia, Cuba, Chile, Guinea Conakry, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Uruguay... and i seen something daft about morrocco, but im not sure about that bit... and does anyone know where guinea conakry is????? lol edit.. might have to check up on this a bit more.. guinea conakry is another name for the republic of guinea, therefore is in africa!!! nick1408
bulgaria is 3 years as well, at least in my game. i keep getting levski and beroe offered to me for work permit feeders
rinso
if anyone gets any more that arent in here, could they add them. then maybe we can get a definitive list?? 3 years 4 years 7 years 10 years ------- --------- -------- ------- Belgium Spain Denmark Greece Poland Holland Slovenia Bulgaria 5 years ----------------------------------------------------------- Austria French Guyana Italy Renuion Cyprus Germany Latvia Slovakia Czech Republic Guadeloupe Lithuania Sweden Estonia Holland Luxembourg Switzerland Finland Hungary Malta France Iceland Martinique Ireland Portugal
Mojby
I do not know if this was a one off but i have a Belgium feeder club and loaned one of my January signings to them. So the first season he was loaned out for 6 months (Jan to July), and then two full years after he was also loaned. When he returned after 2 1/2 years he was then confirmed as having a Belgian passport and I did not need a work permit. Way hey - 2 1/2 years not the full 3. Anyone else noticed this? santy001
Hate to say this but there is one hugely obvious one missing from 5 years Britain/UK lol.
canvey!!
But you need a work permit for the player to be able to play in the UK so you can't have him in the UK to get one.
rinso
Romania should be in there somewhere, but im not sure if its 3 or 4 years....
isuckatfm
3 years 4 years 7 years 10 years ------- --------- -------- ------- Belgium Spain Denmark Greece Poland Romania Holland Slovenia 5 years ----------------------------------------------------------- Austria French Guyana Italy Renuion Cyprus Germany Latvia Slovakia Czech Republic Guadeloupe Lithuania Sweden Estonia Holland Luxembourg Switzerland Finland Hungary Malta France Iceland Martinique Ireland Portugal On a side note they should add a list to the game. Maybe it could be an extra link in the 'request a feeder type' selection (I don't know the technical term but you know like when you use the Start menu in Windows how when you highlight something a secondary list pops up to the side). phnompenhandy
i think, for spain, its two years if you come from any of the following coutries -> Argentina, Brazil, Cape Verde, Colombia, Cuba, Chile, Guinea Conakry, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Uruguay! Can I just get confirmation on this - does it mean that CENTRAL American countries such as Mexico are not covered - i.e. their players do NOT get Spanish citizenship after 2 years? And how about S. American countries not on that list, such as Bolivia and Venezuela?
fettot
mexico is not 2 years. it lays in north america only south american countries give 2 years inspain, colombia, brazil, argentina and so on
rinso
i think mexico IS actually covered... ill have to double check when i load my game up later on today, but i'm pretty sure it should be... im not sure about the others in South America either, that was just a list that i found whilst i was lookng into it. as i said, it does need some more research doing on it.. even if its loading up s.a and spain and trying to buy players from all the s/a nations and seeing what happens... any volunteers???? edit: Mexico IS covered by this (2 years).. think Guardado at Deportivo.... another edit (dont you just LOVE being able to do this?!) i'll set that game up now, with all south american and spain playable and see what i can find out. seem to have a gap in my schedule this afternoon... rinso
right, of theones i could find players for, this is what i got: 2 YEARS TO GAIN SPANISH NATIONALITY Mexican, Costa Rica, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Columbia, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Ecuador, Venezuela. couldnt find any players for the other, more minor countries in South america, and want going to spend 2 hours or more holidaying through a year to see if it came up with and newly generated players. and couldnt find players to confirm whether all those in previous list were true, i just got them off a website about gaining spanish nationality!! trekman
No one seems to have mentioned it but even though you are eligible for a permit after say 2 years to use the Spanish example there is only one problem. The problem is that a player does not have to accept the second nationality which when you think about it makes the whole point of feeder clubs really pointless imo. Ackter
Just pick Belgium or Poland serps. Belgium is usually better as the top clubs have better training facilities, but it's probably easier to get a big Polish club than a big Belgian club. Serpico
Only got offered Romanian.
Ackter
I've never ever been offered a Romanian feeder so don't know how well they work. They can't have very good training facilities on offer. But then you're Hull so there's probably not much difference...

Ninjamark
Does anyone have a reference for the Portugese 5 year rule? I've checked out wikipedia and it says 10 years, 6 if you come from a Portugese speaking country. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portuguese_nationality_law
Ninjamark
Cheers Rinso Here is a site were i got some slightly different information on the two year rule in spain. As i'm at work, i can't check if this has been implemented into FM. http://www.euskosare.org/euskal_herria/euskal_herria/euskal_herrian_bizi/spanish_nationality The bits that relate to FM are... Latin American, Andorra, Philippines, Equatorial Guinea, Portugal and Sephardi citizens (descendants of Jews from Spain): 2 years of residence in Spain. I'm quite interested in Nationality and citizenship... noticing Spain, along with Germany (some exceptions) South Korea and Japan don't allow dual nationality. Is this reflected in the game? Is this contribuiting in some small way to the players who are not willing to give up their nationality... where as in Belgium/Holland there is no expectation of them to give it up. Ninjamark
Romania should be in there somewhere, but im not sure if its 3 or 4 years.... wiki says Romania should be 5 years... is the 4 years an exemption for footballers??? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romanian_nationality_law Or is it a data error that needs to be reported? Having looked for some news on the Polish situation, i can only see that the law says 5 years, although Roger Guerreiro was fast-tracked in only 2.5 years http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/euro2008/article-1025941/South-American-Guerreiro-speak-adopted-countrys-language-midfielders-hoping-Polish-heart.html

dankrzyz
Wish I could get an Andorran feeder club... to pump full of 16 year old Brazilian talents, soon-to-be turned Andorran citizens, and eventually turn Andorra into a competitive European national team.
