Please can some people explain the purpose/significance of youth contracts. Is there an advantage to offering an U18 player a part time contract? What would happen in terms of receiving a fee/deciding to sell a player if they are on a youth contract?a Finally, how do you offer a youth contract? Thank you. Sikker Posted July 23, 2012 Share Posted July 23, 2012 If a player is on a youth contract everyone can sign him for a tribunal fee (not decided by you), but the player is cheaper in wages. Part time the player can only train part time when moving him to the first team but will still be on youth training schedule when in the youth team. But on part time you can decide whether to sell the player or not - the player, though, will demand a higher wage as far as I remember. You offer a youth contract the same way as any other.
