mufctimmyg
i always start the game thinking can i get him on the cheap since he is one of the best young midfielders on it. also he is a perfect fit for my system. thing is i see him develop but i have never seen him become the player his stats age etc say he could be. what causes this? has he got temprement issues like ravel morrison? Smurf
It's probably because the AI doesn't utilise the player enough. If you sign him, play him every game, and put him on training routines to improve his Wing skills, like dribbling, crossing, creativity etc. Give him training to boost whatever stats are lowest. Once he's playing regularly every season and focus on individual training he should develop fine.

Once he's playing regularly every season and focus on individual training he should develop fine. Alaba is, like Crisetig, developing all his career. His development is a bit on the slow side, but if he plays football regularly for the AI every season from the start he becomes a solid creative midfielder, like you see on the picture above. I have seen him better than that as well.
Smurf
That's one of the things I like about player development. I remember years ago they only developed every birthday with a jump in stats, and then i also remember the development used to stop at 21. They pushed that back to 24, which still wasn't enough. And now I believe a player can develop all through their career. Which is great. I like the fact I can sign a 26 year old an they can be great at the age of 30. At least that's how I think it works. Alaba is a great example of this. Slowly getting better but may never reach his potential.
mufctimmyg
fair enough. so its a case of lack of games causing the problem. makes sense to be honest. always wondered what was going on with him. spose its difficult for him to get games ahead of ribery, robben, schweinsteiger, kroos and muller
