Won the league with ease, but not promoted! Anybody know why?

I've been managing SV Kapfenberger in the Austrian First Division (14/15 season), and we've won the league with record points. Yet, inexplicably, second placed FC BW Linz, who finished 18 points behind us, have acquired our place in the top division instead. I've been looking through the rules of the league to establish why this might be, but to no avail. Any ideas, guys? Really can't figure it out.

Stadium size?

Sounds a bit odd, have you got a screenshot of the league table?

Can't see it being anything to do with the stadium size, after all they start the game as a top division team. Will sort out a screenshot.

This is so odd. You definitely should have been promoted as champion. Definitely no rule infractions or anything like that?

Are you sure you haven't been promoted as well? seems very odd, it doesn't say promoted next to you because you are champions as well surely?

I think only one team is promoted from the First Division into the Austrian Bundesliga.

I can't figure it out either, the club has been promoted a few times on my game so I can't see any reason for them not going up.

Data-Issues - it might be worth asking in here, but it doesn't seem that active. Maybe it is worth going straight to the bugs forum here?

Nah we've definitely not been promoted, it's at the point where the new season is announced and we're still in the first division, whilst Linz are now in the top league.

If you can you should replay from an earlier save and if it happens again upload the earlier save for them to check out.

Is Kapfenberger the "second team" of a team that's allready in the top tier? That could be the reason you are denied promotion; a number of leagues have similar rules.

The top team only is suppsoed to be the one that's promoted.

Looking back over the past seasons in the saved game, has it historically always been the top club promoted? (I.e is it jstu you, this season that it's happened to)

Had anything happened to the club prior to you taking over in terms of the club going in to administration, or any other noteable news stories regarding their relegation?

Surely this needs to be posted in the "Bugs" forum, not here.

The rules page says only the top team is promoted. I thinks it's probably a bug unless there are some issues with the stadium or something.

Just had a look on my save & Kapfenberger suffered the same fate, after being relegated from the Bundesliga in 2028/29 they finished top in the First Division the following season only for the 2nd place side.
