England National Pool

Been managing England for 2 years now, the National Pool under 'scout main' has stars (1 - 5) for potential, ability and recommended. As ive been there for a while I am looking for more up and coming players that may be good enough internationally, I already have a couple of wonderkids in the squad which I found from the Premiership. All of the stars under recommended are filled in but there are blanks for some players under potential and ability. How do you get these stars filled in form your coach I have already scouted the players and they have a national report but nothing appears on this screen

You need a valid image url and you need to put it in tags. Using <> brackets instead of [] so I can demonstrate, it should have been:

Remember, replace the <> brackets with [] for the proper version. For some reason you replaced the image's valid url with an invalid one in one of your edits as well. But I found the original for you. Have a nice day.

Im not sure Ive actually scouted them as it seems automatic. They doesnt seem to be any scouts for international games and your coaches report on the players, however under national pool there is a tab called 'scout main' and 'scout other' this is where the star system is. I dont think it works as Wayne Rooney has stars for recommended but none for potential or ability. Seems strange.

Hmmm... sorry, I haven't had much experience with national management on this version. Sorry I couldn't be of much help, hopefully a few replies will get others looking at your thread though.

The game is quirky about this, but it works much better than did FM 2011. There are several things you can do that might fix things. First scout your national pool with your best team scouts. Second, use the player search function to add players to the national pool--you can tell the search to exclude anyone who is not eligible for england and who is already in your national pool. Third, assign your best national coach at evaluating current ability to produce match reports on everyone in your national pool about whom you care. I realize that in a sense of realism this last idea is crazy. No one can actually scout and report on dozens of players at the same time (while also performing his regular competition scouting, his national coaching duties, and, very likely, duties with a club team) but it is sort of necessary to keep updated on the current level of skill of your players.

If you have some youngsters you're interested in, move them into one of the u-21, u-19, etc. squads. When you move them into the squad, your assistant will generate a National Scouting Report on them after a day or two.
