Defending throw-ins

I know this is difficult because like other set pieces we are unable to choose how are defence lines up.

My problem is i'm conceding a lot from attacking throw ins which tend to be picked up by a man on the near side of the area who has time to turn and shoot

How is the best way to defend against these?

Pretty sure throw ins are a bit bugged. Affects the AI too though. Don't think there is too much you can do.

Pretty much nothing you can do other than having a solid defence to start with, one thing you can do is set a player to close down the short option on the defensive corner instructions, this is very helpful when defending against the bullet throw as they tend to pick up any clearances & the player will automatically drop back in the box when there is nothing to close down.
