Before I say that it is impossible to score from freekicks I want to know what abilities good free kick taker has to have? Certainly free kick taking. What else? PenS66 Posted May 1, 2012 Share Posted May 1, 2012 For fun (and testing purposes) I created a keeper with what I think is the consensus here regarding important attributes for a free kick taker. Gave the keeper 20 in free kicks, finishing, first touch, long shots, technique, decisions, composure (and penalty taking). Preferred moves: Shoots long, tries long range free kicks --- NO hits free kicks with power, because he would always do it and it doesn't work. In the first 17 games in the Bundesliga (I am HSV) he scored six free kicks (and one penalty), including two screamers from well over 30 yards. He's a machine!
