Picking Up Moves from tutoring

Since I never use tutoring feature until FM 12 (which I love!) I don't know if it suppose to work this way, my last 3 tutees that give me message of him picking up a move or two from his tutor, all of them have moves that their mentor don't have... Admittedly some of them is good for their playing position (my young striker got run ball through center, my DLP got simple passes and one-two ball which is fine since I play him on CM anyway, the third got shoot from distance which is not my fav so I probably going to try and remove that). So is that working properly? Kinda weird with none of the tutors have moves that the tutees gained
